Saw the KU vs. Temple game today at 2:30 pm and this kid Aldrich impressed me. Second time I recall seeing him - the first was against Washington earlier this yr. where Bobby Knight was just gushing over his potential. "Right now he doesn't have a ceiling, that's how good he can be," was what I remember Knight saying. 6'11", 250 lb. Looks like he could be a very good center in the NBA. Great around the basket with very good footwork - a legit back-to-the-basket guy who runs the floor, looks strong enough, is a very good shot-blocker with great timing and it looks like he has range out to about 17'. Funky little over-the-head release on the jumper and on the FTs but still effective (shooting 90% from the stripe this season - has only missed 4 FTs all year). Griffin's the best big man in college and is gonna go 1 - after that? I think it's all a crap shoot. This kid could be the second best big man in college right now. Don't know too much about BJ Mullens yet to be honest (I know he's not getting much burn for OSU early on though and the knock on him is that he doesn't bring it every night, esp. defensively), I've seen Thabeet play a lot and he could go either way IMO and Austin Daye's basically a big perimeter player that's not ready anyway. This kid could be better. He could be either Brook Lopez or even more. Nbadraft.net has us taking this kid at 14. He could be a nice big man for the Knicks to shoot for in the lower part of the lottery if that's where we end up selecting. Anyone else like him?

He has a well rounded game. He boards well, blocks shots, plays decent d and has a nice offensive game. We're not taking Ewing good, but he will be a good starting center in the nba. IMO, he's better than Lopez.

Aldrich is one of the guys I don't know too well. He looks like he keeps getting better. It also looks like he made HUGE improvements from last year to this year.

SEASON MIN PTS REB AST TO A/T STL BLK PF FG% FT% 3P% PPS
2007-2008 8.3 2.8 3.0 .1 .5 .24 .3 .9 1.2 .518 .684 .000 1.35

He's projected at where the Knicks are projected to pick on nbadraft.net and it seems like a great fit.
