His lack of an editor/fact checker irks the **** out of me. Every single article has a glaring error.
Houston is also a friend with Wes Wesley, who is a behind-the-scenes advisor to a handful of star players, including LeBron James. Houston's pulse shouldn't be far from the King James saga as it nears July 1, 2010 - which could prove invaluable.
A simple fact checker would have done 2 things for Berman and since I know he reads message boards, I'll hip him to something:
1. It's WILLIAM Wesley, not Wes Wesley. If you can't remember just call him "Worldwide Wes" or just..."Wes". But for someone who goes ape **** when someone calls him Mark Bermen, it's a bitch move that he can NEVER get anyone's name right and has no desire at all to check these things. It just ****ing lazy. It's like him saying Isiah drove a Road Ranger in every damn story. Isiah was a snake, but I doubt he was driving a person. And gotdamn it already, stop calling Danilo the "Italian Stallion".
2. Wes is not an "advisor to a handful of star players". First of all, there's no such thing as an "advisor" unless you read Marvel Comics. Spell check is a sign of professionalism. Second, I know Marc can't count, but a handful is 5. Wes doesn't want **** to do with Marbury so I guess Marc figured he wasn't that big of a deal. Wes is more than an "adviser" to HUNDREDS of players across various sports and it's more about who you know in relation to him as opposed to whether or not you're a star. Wes has relationships with agents, GM's, college coaches, pro coaches, scouts, executives, players, entertainers and the business community. There is not a single team in the NBA that does not have a Wes connection. Every player on both USA basketball squads was connected to Wes, who's well connected to Val Ackerman and Jerry Colangelo. Wes is the most powerful man in the basketball world...men's, women's, college and pro. I don't expect the general public to know **** about Wes, but someone whose JOB it is to follow the basketball world should. Then again, being that he works for the Post, Berman's job is more along the lines of gossip, misinform and instigate.
