1st post ... just found this excellent site.

Curious what everyone thinks he can offer.

I'm optimistic. He had some impressive stretches in last year's playoffs ... after very little recovery time from injuries. I think he can still D and rebound, and his offensive liabilities won't hurt us the way they hurt Jersey since Knicks' half court offense isn't built around the center controlling the ball on the high post.

All I care about out of him are blocks and rebounds, any points are icing on the cake.

However I am concerned if he cant make it up the floor and slows down the offense considerably.

I would like to see if Deke could start the fast break. Anyone remember Wes Unseld of yesteryear. Ever see him start a fast break off a defensive rebound. He could take the ball down off the boards and without a pause have the ball into a flashing players hands halfway down the court. Had a two handed pass that was as accurate as any I have seen these days. Never held the ball and waited for a guard to come back to him to hand it off.
But the Knicks aren't looking for that type of offense yet. R they????
