OK, if he continue play the way he is playing we may have issues trying to resign him.

Kobe
What he could involve himself in is pushing the Lakers to pursue pending restricted free agent Nate Robinson, who has quickly gained status this season. James has already expressed his appreciation for the 5-9 Robinson, as have Steve Nash, Shaquille O'Neal and others.

After Tuesday's game, in which Robinson came off the bench and led the Knicks with 33 points, Bryant lavished high praise on the energetic guard.

"I love the little fella, man, I do," Bryant said. "He just had a fantastic game. He's been playing well. He had a great game the last game [in Phoenix]. I have nothing but respect for him."

If he's that good and proves to continue to be that good we have the room to sign him. We are making cap space to sign good players. If Nate is so good then he will be re-signed.

Those teams can only offer the MLE. Nate won't want to take a crap team's space like Oklahoma City. We have the upper hand with Nate. We could offer him 6M a year to start and retain him because it's more than teams like LA will be able to.

If Kobe and Nash love Nate so much - give Donnie Walsh a call and come on over to New York.

I think Nate at 6 million a year would be a steal. Ink that deal, get it done. 5 years and 30 million and still a good amount of cap space left. This offense was just made for him and he really really seems to have matured. Still don't want him to be the backup point guard (though with his size that would help us, then we can have some size at SG when he is backing up the point.)

exactly... the whole point of this is to see what we have. If Nate and Lee develop into bigtime players than you keep them.

Robinson, whose Knicks return home tonight for the first time since Dec. 7, is coming off a superb West Coast swing, averaging 26.3 points in three games.

Robinson insisted he doesn't mind either role, saying, "It doesn't matter. I just love playing basketball."

Just don't forget to factor in 10% raises every year. 5yrs and 38mil at least. Probably more.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

I think Walsh over played his hand and should have signed both these kids to deals. We really need to see what gallo can do because keeping Lee/Nate is vital.

Gallo can be used to get rid of Eddy Curry and his contract next season.

I want Nate back and i hope we can do it at 6-7 per year

There aren't many teams who will be able to offer all that much. Theres only about a handful of squads with significant cap space. Id love him back

i think a big part of the reason why D Lee wasn't signed to an early extension is because he wanted to see what Gallo could give this team... anyway it doesn't make sense to lock those guys up early when the plan is for flexibility in 2010... Donnie's gonna have different things cooking on the hot stove at the trade deadline, i think u can bet on that.

If you are Nate Robinsons agent what are you going to ask the Knicks for? Give me 9mm a years or I will become a FA---people dont get it--they think we are keeping lee and nate on the cheap--when reality hits its going to hit hard.

there is no way no how we can keep duhon harrington lee and nate--in fact I ONLY see us keeping 1 of them.

By my count, there are 4 teams in the NBA who currently are projected to have 10 mil or more in cap space

Detroit, OKC, Memphis and ATL. Im not sure i see any of these teams throwing big money at Nate

I think keeping him in the 6-7 mil range is probably realistic

If the Knicks lowball him--he'll just take a QO and become an UFA. In sports its about the money 99% of the time.

I think Nate will be back. I was in the car a few weeks ago and listening to the pregame show for one of our games, forget which one. D'Antoni was being interviewed on radio by Johnny Hoops. Asked him about Nate, D'Antoni said that Nate was one of his favorite players that hes ever coached, and that he would go to battle with 12 Nate Robinson's any day of the week. Im sure that given his contract Coach D'Antoni is gonna have bigtime say with who is on this team going forward as a surrounding peice to whoever we get in 2010. And im pretty sure hes gonna be campaigning big time to get something done with Nate. Hes a perfect fit here, the coach loves him, he loves the city, hes gone through some dark times here and it looks like there is finally light at the end of the tunnel. Him staying makes too much sense. Hopefully at a semi reasonable price

Beware of the agents!!!! They are gonna ask for max money for their clients and there is nothing the Knicks can do.

We will have to just let them go with our hands tied. The Knicks are ruined!

Ah please, if it gives you some kind of weird gratification to think on all the ways some agents, some teams and the rest of the world can and, in your mind, will screw the Knicks future plans, fine. Suit yourselves.

But let me tell you, its ridiculous. One thing is to speculate, the other is to make them seem imminent. Like the Knicks can't do anything about it.

Fine. Believe that. Get more stress in your life and then see things go down differently in some months and some seasons.

I think they maybe think on the lines of a sign and trade depending on there value at the end of the season. Maybe they can pick up a superstar that will attrack Bron in 2k10. And you cant tell me that the two of them combine in any trade isn't worth a super star player.

Both have very good upsides and are attractive peiecs to anybody players, coaches, and Gms. You have so many options with them come season end that you really have to thank Isiah for these players.

Nate doesn't move the ball enough, sometimes I think he is out to get his. Hard worker though but in the end he will always be a clown.
