Jumper is nice but if he can elevate his game with more inside moves he can average 20 points in this offense. I think it would help more than the jumper. Thoughts ?

He needs some kind of headfake/finesse move to stop his shot from getting blocked. But tonight he really showed the repetoire...hook, face up, regular J, finishing with both hands. He is becoming a pretty good offensive player...more than just "garbage" points.

David Lee is awesome--the guy is 15-18 points 12-14 rebounds every single night. All of the other guys are hot and cold but David Lee is the rock.

Yeah i really think if he developes just one or 2 moves inside that are harder to stop than "go up strong" he can be our #2 option even with Lebron. His stuff inside seems like easy blocks for opposing bigs and he still gets them in most of the time.

#2 option? NO.

He doesn't need to be a no.2 option when we have AL Harrington/Nate Robinson able to score 30 pts. But he gets his 16-18 easily in the flow of the offense on a consistent basis right now

I agree. He needs a little more to his game inside and I think he knows it. Wouldn't surprise me if he came back next season featuring some new moves underneath - wouldn't surprise me at all - his work ethic is tremendous. Having said that, the guy's been a warrior. I've been looking for that little something from him lately to show me that he's arrived and that he's akeeper - well he definitely showed me something by going out and doing his thing in this back to back against Shaq/Amare and tonight against Bynum/Odom. I was pissed off about a lot of things tonight against the Lakers, but it had nothing to do with him. He had a little confident swagger to him tonight against LA out there - anyone else pick up on that? He's been fantastic...

Lee needs to develop a jumper before we crown him the king of the power forwards. Ive been hearing about this improved jumper of his for 2 years now and i swear I havent seen him hit more than 5 jumpshots in his entire career. Hes got a long way to go b4 hes a legit 2nd option on a winning team

The ceiling on DLee is a very athletic Charles Oakley and that is nothing to sneeze about. The only thing I want him to improve is his outside shot. He finishes well around the basket is a rebounding machine. He is almost like Rodman that balls just gravitate to him.

I am with BRIGGS and Nalod, he is a rock and a keeper.

Developing an inside game is a skill and very difficult to do. It takes years to learn the tricks of the trade. Most great post players in the NBA were great post players prior to the NBA. That being said I think D.Lee will work at it. He took the first step when he worked on his J. He came back this year and has developed a J that if not a good one is at least a threat. Hopefully he works on a baby hook next and learns to use his body to bump off defenders(which I think is his biggest problem). With his athletic ability he should not get blocked as much as he does. He has to learn the small tricks of the trade and this sometimes takes years to develop.

Playing is the post requires inside strength as well, moving players by putting your body on they...It's a totally different scope...David rebounds well now because he gets to balls quickly and uses his athleticism...Scoring inside requires lower body strength and being able to eat up space in a sense...

My problem with DLee's offensive game is that he requires a guard getting into the lane for him to be effective on the offensive end...If he can work on his jumper, it may come easier to him than other offensive options...

d-lee should learn from grand ma-ma. LJ was the best with the up and under move. At some moments it look like he was traveling

Or he can read Karl Malone's book "Elbowing and cheating your way to victory."

Learning how to bump people as you go into your shot is tough to learn. Bump, stay on balance, knock the opposition off balance, avoid getting a foul called and then making the shot is a lot tougher to learn than it sounds. David may never learn it. You don't have to be strong to do it, it's about leverage, balance and foot control. David doesn't use his body at all. He tries to power the ball in without contact.

I totally agree he will learn a ball fake and will score four more points a game. He needs to learn to go directly at the guy blocking his shot.
