I've asked the Ultimate Knicks faithful a couple of times for a review on FW. I really didn't see him @ UI & last year was forgettable to say the least. Still, I've seen a little bit of him now & I'd like to offer a review of my own.

Plusses:
-He has nice size.
-He is an outstanding passer.
-He has quick & strong hands defensively.
Minuses:
-Below average speed/quickness.
-Jury is definitely out on his shooting ability.
Summary:
-He is the most passion-less Knick since Charles Smith. His body language, his disinclination to push the ball up the court...just scream of a lethargic demeaenor. After seeing some of his statistics in the summer league, I was hopeful. After two preseason games (premature I understand)...I am not hopeful anymore.

I really like Fanks game, I think he is better than ward already and definately better than eisley. He passed well tonight and showed good defense on a very quick player in parker. F. will should start...

Frank should be starter for the knicks come reg season. What he will bring is easier shots for the starters. He has to to get use to playing against the best PG's in the league to get better. Ward and Eisley are better suited with a half court game and what the knicks need now are easier shots since we aren't that athletic. Houston KVH KT AND dice + Mutumbo will all benefit from a penetrating point guard like frank williams.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Passion comes with PT. Once he gets that you will see that his passion for the game will come. Right now the man probably feels like he will never get a legit chance to start. If he ever gets the chance to take the team by the horns and play as a starter he will feel like he belongs and its his team, that produces passion.

Court Vision and leadership don't necessarily come w/ playing time. Confidence, however, does. Now assuming he has these innate talents, FW can succeed. He has the physical gifts... but it may never come together--- still too early to know. With PGs, sometimes it just takes a few years of seasoning before they become productive.

Charlie Ward has the leadership thing down... he proved that as a QB in college. The thing is that he isn't ultra-talented as a basketball player (at the NBA level, merely average).

Seasoning a PG requires playing time, something FWill didnt get last year.
