sad... I think the sixers run last year, fooled the gm into thinking he was just 1 player away.... Overpaying iggy, and brand, just heaped a bunch of expectations on that team.. I hate that for cheeks...

when you look at it, Brand, iggy and Dalembert are the hightest paid players on that team, and there is not one real franchise player among them either.. And you can question if brand is really a #1 option...

Good post. The Brand signing has all the makings of a disaster. I know its early as hell, but in the small sample thus far he looks like a shell of his former self. I saw him against Cleveland on the Wednesday Night ESPN game and he was brutal ---- got booed off the floor.

This isnt as egregious as the Jordan/Wizards firing, but here again is the coach serving as the scapegoat and fall guy for underachieving management and roster.

Well, sure it might seem as the coach serving as the scapegoat, but changing coaches can significantly improve a team; so it is sometimes justified. Look at the hot start we had with Isiah's guys. That was all D'Antoni. So seemingly a scapegoat but justly so.

Compared to his career numbers, Elton Brand is significantly down in every category except rebounds. But if you look further into rebounds, you'll see that his offensive boards are down 25% from his career average. Overall, I'll say it's not a promising start.

Of course, that being said, I don't think Cheeks should've been to blame for this. I do think that a lot of thought that Philly would be hovering around 50 wins after the Brand acquisition, but so far it hasn't worked out that way.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.
