KVH showed quite a few flashes of brilliance. I think his versatility and ability to score inside and out will definitely help us out.

Sweetney and Lampe were absolutely horrible. Good news about Sweetney-- he's taller than Gary Trent (but then again, what does that prove?). He kind of moves and plays a bit like Othella Harrington. It's kind of interesting how so many of the Knicks players are busy losing weight and getting smaller. It sure looks like we're getting pushed around in the paint.

KT is looking really lean--- how that fits in with him playing center (at least his idea) doesn't really computer here. He didn't play much at all.

Forget about me trying to defend Howard Eisley. He's horrible. :) The team went nowhere with him leading them.

Michael Doleac w/ the shaved head is quite imposing. Remind me of Matt Geiger.

Travis Knight played as if his NBA career depended on this one game. He rebounded, scored, and forced KG into a turnover... then hit another jumper in perhaps the most glorious minute of his NBA career. I think for veteran's minimum, he'd be a nice addition to almost any team--- however here, I just don't see where he fits in. Seems like he's being showcased.

Not much to say--- Frank Williams shot well--- maybe his future is as combo guard.

Oh yeah, Vranes was remarkably effective in the final minutes of the game. A couple of blocks, nice freethrow shooting form... I think he needs more playing time to be a player. Why can't NBA players play at the junior college or Div III level? He'd definitely benefit with some basetball basic training... and playing time. Alternatively--- why can't teams send extra players down to the development league level and still hold on to their rights?

They sucked. Sure it was preseason, but this is probably the first Knicks game I watched that was painful throughout the whole game. Usually its just the last quarter where they lose by 2 pts after leading by 15.

No one was good. KVH should get Garnett stats: 20-10 (prob not the 5). I guess 15-7 is OK. But thats the only person who did semi-good. And, oh yeah, Matt Carrol was something like leading scorer. Wow. An undrafted rookie getting leading scorer?!? There HAS to be something wrong, which there was. Lampe got booed by the crowd.. missing 3 WIDE OPEN shots from 10-15ft out is unforgivable. Sweetney did nothing. I dont think you can judge Vranes cause in the last 2 min no one was trying. The game was horrible.

Lets see if Mutombo becomes a messiah today vs the Spurs.. I doubt theyre gonna fare much better.

i just saw the tail end of the 4th quarter. even though it was garbage time, i was very impressed with frank williams, with the scoop shot layup in traffic. he is still our best penetrator on the team. i hope he gets more playtime. but he still throw many turnovers. his court vision must improve. vranes was impressive because he is a little more mobile than i thought. he ran up and down the court and i was hard pressed thinking he was 7'5". even thought he missed some post shots, he did get to the line. his post move mechanics look good. this is where deke could really help. i think vranes will be a decent center in two years with deke showing him the ropes.

Sweetney is undersized for a PF. He's about the same height as Harrington/Spoon, which is 6-6 and 1/2 inches. Sweetney is going to get all of his shots blocked, period. He had an amazing track record in college, because of his weight, which is a non-factor now in the pros, and in college there are not many PFs or Centers bigger than 6'7" to 6'9". But in the NBA, the prototypical starting PF is now 6'11" with hops. Sweets is in for a surprise.

And with Lampe stinking it up out there - that's what I saw from him all summer League. Couldn't make open shots. Got dunked on and abused by DIII ballers, and the such. I hope the kid improves, but he's very slow footed and looks absolutely lost on the court sometimes.

I hope Mutumbo tutors Vranes and makes him something...

The first home televise preseason game, for the defence of the rookies.I think they had the jitters. But on the good side Lampe brought the ball down the court good and shows he will develop a deadly jumper in the future.Sweetney has a outside touch n some post up moves.Vranes determine to block shots.Mutombo could help these guys.Carrol did good, its still early. As for KVH played the way i expected 15pts.couple of rebs.,Thomas looks lost,Knight could be a backup some where else,Anderson good backup,Ward starting pg for NOW,Eisley STR8 BUM,Williams still has a yr left to develop.

I think the whole team is servicable except for Knight and Eisley. Vranes needs more playing time but is already effective and changes the game just by standing there. I dont even care if he doesnt score points. I havent seen a knick change a game within a few seconds of him coming onto the court since Marcus Camby. I think the rooks were a lot better than what they showed in this game, so we should go a little easier on them. They are rooks after all. Matt Carrol should be kept on the team and given playing time over Anderson at the backup 2. Knight should be bought out of his contract post haste! If he has a jumper thats good for him but he will not get playing time here and may even be useful to another team.

One thing is certain if Eisley is spotted within 10 km of a basketball he should be shot on sight!!
