Now the Knicks have a hole to fill. Walsh said he had not yet decided how to proceed. With Nate Robinson expected to return soon from a groin injury, Walsh said there was no urgency to sign another guard.

Walsh also said he was not yet clear about the procedure for removing Mobley from the 15-man roster, or what kind of salary cap relief the Knicks might get. Walsh said he was encouraged to see Wilson Chandler, a forward, play effectively at guard against the Nets on Wednesday. The Knicks have also used Quentin Richardson at guard. Given Coach Mike D’Antoni’s habit of using a tight rotation, Walsh said the Knicks had enough guards to get through the season.

i read that players signed over the summer can be traded starting Dec. 15. Walsh may be holding on to that roster spot to see who's on the block then in a 2-for-1 or using those trade exceptions.

no i don't cuz we don't have any roster spots to accomodate him at this point... ur telling me Roberson & Jerome James taking up roster spots who are both completely useless doesn't play a factor in why we can't bring in a lively body w/some length down low who can block a few shots for you during games?

i mean signed to any other team as well.

The problem with a shot blocker is that the guy will likely suck on offense and this teams bread is buttered at the offensive end of the floor.

When our offense is clicking our defense plays much better.

If we bring in some shot blocking mook its likely that if he mucks up the offense Mike D will just sit his arss on the bench and we'll never see him again.

But I thought some posters said that they were a dime a dozen and could be had whenever. Isn't that the reason the Knicks can pass on Thabeet.

There is always undiscovered talent out there, remember John Starks and Anthony Mason.. Both were random out of nowhere pickups.... Neither were shotblockers tho :)

before anyone trashes JoeC......Golden State is pissed at this kid Ellis and Donnie and stephan Jackson have both been on record saying they would welcome Marbs......that team needs a point guard and a refund for the Ellis signing.

Makes tons of sense.

Also to tie it to the 2010 scenerio....Knicks would have enough for Lebron to go along with a team that has Al Harrington, Duhon, wilson Chandler, Gallo, and with this scenerio Monta Ellis.....lots of talent. Not a traditional line-up but that doesn't mean **** with this offense.

Just for fn imagine:
Pf: Lebron(played here in the olympics)
Sf: al harrington (proving now he's a real player)
C: Gallo (he's tall and he can do a lot, maybe revolutionize the game)
Pg: Duhon (just doing what he do)
Sg: Monta (busting that mofo ass)

Again don't laugh...this scenerio could happen if you believe, lol.
