Chris Duhon and David Lee.....whew!!! Some times I think I'm lokking at Nash and Amare....don't crack on me cuz you know its true. D'antoni used to have Nash/Amare running the same sets....Duhon and Lee has less flare but its still just basketball.

2 years ago would anybody here say that David Lee and Duhon would hook up and be successful at anything together? (Unless it was baggin white girls at a nite club, lol)....

Enter Eddy Curry......imagine Eddy Curry battering through the lane off those same plays.....now imagine him eating a 3rd helping of linguini alfredo and gasping for air barely pedaling on the the stationary bike.....s.o.b.!

Did anyone else crack up at how hilariously effective the 5 small forward set was last night?

I was surprised when MDA went with all Forwards against the Bulls for a while. I think he's a more modern version of Don Nelson. He's got such a handle on how to create great offense that if you give him a team with enough smart, athletic forward size guys he can win games. Being athletic and able to shoot is a big part of how it works, cuz at some point there's gonna be an open shot no matter how good a defense is.

This is all basic basketball, but the attention to detail and how he coaches it makes him special. He get's his players to understand all the options and drills it so well that they think the game much faster and it all becomes second nature. What has been amazing to see is how fast he can teach this to players and how fast they seem to catch on. Guys that have been labeled as uncoachable or unwilling to play in a team concept seem to succeed.

What's funny is that Zeke actually had the right idea at first, but he just wasn't able to execute it. He needed a Walsh too, so that he had someone making the right moves and not panicking and making deals that didn't make sense. Zeke was his own worst enemy.

Duhon & Lee on the pick & roll is a thing of beauty to watch... they're in perfect synch w/1 another... D Lee is an awesome finisher at the rim cuz he can use both hands to get off his shot & he's got awesome hands to catch balls that are thrown to him in the paint along w/a VERY quick hop that he uses to get back up & grab balls off the rim that don't go in for offensive putbacks... i've hardly ever seen a guy get up as quickly as him for rebounds & putbacks.

D'lantoni said from day 1 he would play his best players, aka "my guys". He didn't lie......all the best players are playing. When Jared came back Malik Rose disappeared. Roberson hasn't grasped the team game so D'antoni benched him and ran 5 small fwds.....

I mean he's a genius. He had an offense built around Craw, Zach and Nate basically.....now he has a totally different look with Al Harrington slashing and scoring all over, David Lee/Duhon pick and roll, and Q-rich posting up......

He's a flat out genius. Imagine if he can get everyone healthy and Donnie can continue to get D'antoni guys that can come in and be apart of the "my guys" crew......D'antoni said him and Donnie will always be on the same page....Go Knicks!!!!

Yeah no more playing guys just because they make a lot of money!!! What's truly beautiful about all of this, is that we have the flexibility and freedom to make all the right moves. To finally be able to go after the players you really want and not have to just take on cast offs or guys you're trying to force to fit a need is a wonderful thing.

I'm very pleased with what we have right now in MDA and Walsh and i hope they can keep making solid decisions and get this team back to the elite level. How much fun would that be for this team to be at the top again and competing for a title? Anyway, in the meantime it's going to be interesting to see how things develop over the next few years.

That's something you and I could probably achieve without tons of effort.
If you are still following the team and reading sites like this, there is nothing, short of your own demise, that is going to throw you off this train.

Imagine what he could do with a 6-11 Gallo with his skill set?

Its going to take time, but Mike knows what he is doing.

Rebuilding with some good moments.

+2........That was our biggest issue over the years. Guys never had to earn anything. They were given minutes based on nicknames and contracts. Coaches were either forced or chose(Isiah) to play players based ont his. If they disagreed with the coach, they just quit on him and then the coach got fired for not being able to "motivate" them. Now Mike is in charge. What he says goes. If the players don't like it, they wind up on the bench and the next guy is given the minutes. This is the quickest way to "motivate" a player. Now all those babies that ran the roost before are either ridign the pine, sitting at home or fat.
I just hope that people will like me
