He looks impressive- the best move there that I saw was when he was doubled down low, he brought it out to the 3pt line, and when the help defender turned to go back, he drove past his man and posterized the help defender.
He would put up monster numbers in a D'Antoni system, no doubt. I just wish our team would start losing a few more games so we might actually have a shot at getting someone like him in the draft. |

I watched AZ last night on Fox to get another look at Budinger and the guy who really impressed me the two times I have seen AZ this year is Jordan Hill--he doesnt get much play but he is a better prospect than Budinger imho--from what I have seen. He's faster bigger way more athletic and quite skilled for a guy hsi size. He really looks more of a true fire lottery pick than Budinger.
I have only seen one pure NBA C prospect --Thabeet but for this system--there are some good fast ballers who play 6-9 6-10 who are mutli skilled that could be very attractive to the Knicks. [Edited by - BRIGGS on 12-11-2008 10:59 AM] RIP Crushalot😞

Posted by BRIGGS: Agreed. And a lot of them might come out of the second round. |

I like Tyler Smith a lot for the Knicks... I think he could play SG no problem. The kid can ball and hsould be available in the mid round. I like him a lot

I think this draft sucks. I love Blake but he isnt a franchise type of player. I think the good teams will find gems 15-30 but the teams at the top will have slim pickings

To bad he isn't a couple of inches taller he would have been a devastating center.

One guy who doesn't get talked about much here is James Harden. His numbers are very good plus he has the intangibles that make a good player a winner. Take a look at this guys numbers. He shoots very well scoring 25 a game at 57%, he goes to the line a lot and is hitting half of his threes. Plus he boards very well for a two - averaging more than 7 a game. He plays smart, he plays hard and he plays a team game. I'd be very happy to see him on the Knicks.

Posted by Ira: Ira, I'm definitely with you on Harden. I watched him against Baylor, hitting clutch shot after clutch shot. Nearly brought the Sun Devils back from a 15 point deficit (got to within 4) in the final minutes. I've been casually checking up on him since, and I have been impressed. The guy does it all - great shot, clutch, makes the hustle plays, and shows the leadership that makes a team great. |

I wanted this kid last yr, but he "pulled out". the only thing beasley has over blake is the J. blake has more hops, is A LOT stronger, and is a very good passer out of the double and sometimes triple teams. not to mention on the next level he could play the 4 or 5 spots.

Posted by BRIGGS: i don't really view Budinger as a lottery pick either, but he's a guy we can probably nab in the middle to late 1st round if we can somehow get another pick in a trade of Nate or D Lee who can give u some nice hustle off the bench & great perimeter shooting, & w/his size he can easily shoot over smaller G's trying to guard him... he's got great intangibles & is an awesome team player... very intelligent on the court & very unselfish... i think he'd be a great fit on this team playing w/guys like Duhon, Wilson & Lee. Posted by TMS:Posted by BRIGGS: I really like Budinger. I agree - not sure about his draft position and what he deserves but I like him as a pro 2-3. He's not a team changer but he'd be a very nice player on a good team. Runs the floor very nicely - very nice stroke -- will only get better. |
