Now that Mutombo is officially a Knick, the team currently hold 16 players with guaranteed $$$. By Oct 27th, every team in the league must have a total of 15 guaranteed contracts.

What do you think they will do??? I strongly feel a trade won't happen. I believe since Travis Knight is in the last year of his contract which is 4.4mil, He will get release right before the deadline.. Knicks would rather keep 7'4 Vranes who can eventually developed into a decent big man. Any suggestions or ideas??

If I were Layden and Dolan I would do as much as I can to find a trade for Knight and Ward and Possibly KT - you dont want to just cut Knight because he does have a smalla mount of value since his contract is expiring. See what you can get done before you cut him. Looking at the roster it is a tough decision. It really depends on how much upside they think Vranes has. I have a feeling he might be the one to get cut.

I wouldn't cut ward or trade him because his game changes with a defensive presence in the middle on the team now. He can take chances on defense like he use to do with Ewing around. Ward makes timely shots when opposing teams aren't looking for him to shoot. He knows what it's like to play in big games. Both him and Eisley have been to the finals, so IMHO Knight being bougt out would be the better deal.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.
