Looks like one of our favorite options for acquistion with the trade exemption might be dealt soon:

The Grizzlies are talking to the Wizards about a trade that would send Javaris Crittenton to Washington and allow Memphis to reclaim the first-round pick it dealt for the rights to Spaniard Juan Carlos Navarro in 2007.

That’s the deal. Nothing else to it from the Grizzlies’ end. The deal has not been completed. A league source said the trade likely will die if it isn’t finalized within the next couple of hours.

We have no draft picks to trade so he wasn't an option.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Damn how many times have Crittenton been traded in less than two seasons. Hewitt was right the kid should have stayed in school.

well, the kid's still only 20 years old & still learning the game at this stage... i think he can be a solid PG if given the opportunity for extended minutes over a full season.

lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

Crittenton was NEVER an option. The Knicks can't deal a first to get him. And considering Marcus Williams got dealt for a first, that's exactly what Crittenton will go for.

what about the rights to Danilo Gallinari for the rights to our 2010 pick back... maybe Utah throws in a servicable guard we can use in the meantime.

That could probably work. Gallo is white. But then again, if he's Catholic, it won't.

Sounds like this is done

From the Washington Post:

In a three-team trade to be announced later on Wednesday, the Wizards will acquire Grizzlies guard Javaris Crittenton and Hornets guard Mike James. The Hornets get Antonio Daniels from the Wizards and possibly a conditional draft pick.
The Grizzlies benefit by getting back a conditional first-round pick from the Wizards. Washington will also release guard Dee Brown --who is currently starting-- to clear enough roster space. Crittenton will likely emerge as the starting PG in Washington until Gilbert Arenas gets back, and is worth stashing on your bench.

Looks like a done deal: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3759656

It's a three way trade. Plus, "The Wizards have to release guard Dee Brown to make roster room for their new players." Is he an option for us for backup PG?

We need that pick back, but at this point is not an option to trade Gallinari for it, as we could easily be better next season, make the playoffs and end up with a worse pick and player. No, nothing can be done with Gallo until he is able to play and show us what he's got.
