I read somewhere that it could be two weeks before a decision is made on Mobley's status. In that time, Curry could conceivably be cleared to play. How about this 2 for 1 trade?

Knicks get
Mike James and Quincy Douby

Kings get
Julian Wright

Hornets get
Eddy Curry

The Hornets get a needed big man. The Kings get a young forward. The Knicks get some help at the guard position whose contracts expire before 2010. With some depth at the guard position, we could also waive Robersuck and sign PEJ?

This deal passed

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?players=1051~3241~990~3000&teams=18~23~3~18&te=&cash=

We could then go after a big like Thabeet in the draft.

somehow you need to mix in the Raps too so we can do a Lee and Bosh comparison.

Oh man, you're dogging me again. I was going somewhere with that thread, but never mind now Lee hasn't been in the league as long as Bosh. Look at Bosh's numbers his first two seasons, they are similar to Lee's. Sure Bosh is quicker and more athletic, but if Lee can continue to improve....he will never be Bosh, but he won't cost as much either. Two max contract free agents don't leave alot left to build a really good team around....anyways, who cares. I'm usually wrong about everything anyway

Not a bad idea. Hey any idea where we can jettison a 300 lb. waste of space is a great idea...

Great for us - like you said Rook, immediate guard help that can be removed from the cap by the summer of 2010 & I like it for the Kings as well; they'd be getting a nice piece for the future in Julian Wright w/o giving up anything (something tells me Douby might be outta the league soon). Does it really work for the Hornets? That's the question. Do they really want any part of Eddy Curry? As is, that's a pretty good team over there right now with no major weaknesses. I think they're fine up front myself with Chandler & West with young Hilton Armstrong covering both big spots off the bench. I guess the thinking's that Curry would be a nice offensive option down low for Paul to throw the ball to, maybe giving their frontcourt players (esp. West) a chance to rest more and stay fresh for the playoff run. And they surprisingly don't have a lot of cap flexibility to look forward to as a lot of other teams do - they have quite a few guys tied up on that team for big money. Maybe they go all-in with add-ons to their core and try to piece it together that way at this point...

But Eddy Curry?? Are they prepared to take on Eddy's huge salary for a player that may or may not help them though? 300 lbs., out of shape, unmotivated, disinterested, only moron in the league besides Marbury who's incapable of figuring out how to enjoy playing for a great coach in D'Antoni and how D'Antoni makes all players better and eventually gets them paid... Am I leaving anything out? OH YEAH, even at optimal performance, he's a 6'11" bozo who plays no defense and can't rebound. Plus, the weird pre-season injury actually appears legit - taken from NBA.com's player update page: The Post reported a few days ago that an MRI taken on Monday revealed that the bone bruise in Curry's knee is resting against the tibia, a weight-carrying bone. Curry, who hasn't played yet this season, will take a new set of special shots -- one a week for three weeks -- because of the new evidence. Unbelievable. Ya think that's enough motivation to lose some weight there fatso? And don't forget the heart condition that's always looming in the background... Like others have pointed out, it'll take a straight up miracle by Walsh to get this guy outta here by 2010. Maybe Donnie can use The Force and the Jedi mind trick on N.O. to convince them Eddy's a good player who's worth taking a chance on...

Hornets can get more for a young player like Wright than Curry and Curry right now is worthless to anyone since he is out of shape and injured.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.
