I don't blame payton, rondo is a very average PG, put in a great situation. His game is borderline garbage, he is a good athlete who can defend and he makes enough plays to get by. But he has no shot, and he does that same 1970's fake behind the back pass mover every time. Hell he even does it shooting FT's, it seems..

And just what has gary payton done his whole career?? Hes tried to hook with teams as the rent- a -shooter after the trade deadlines and IMO his defense declined his last 4- 5yrs.So what was he talking about he did the same thing!!Rondo has a long way to go to prove himself,and I believe he will

i don't think GP's giving Rondo enough credit... i agree he's been put into a great situation but it's not like he got his ring by being a towel waiver like he was ragging on those other guys... GP was a great great player but he pretty much did the same thing he was ragging Rondo about when him & Karl Malone went to LA to try & win a ring later on in their careers while riding on Kobe & Shaq's coattails, & they both failed in the process.

IMO Payton was a borderline HOF only because of his defense.I understand his defense and such but in the twilight of his career he wasnt the payton of old.His persuit of his ring interfered with his game and his storied career.How can he critize rondo( I aint a rondo fan) when rondo has his whole career in front of him .Its a moot point,when rondo has 6 or 7 yrs under his belt then lets talk.

Gary just sounds jealous

1.) Celtics fans love Rondo because he does the little things. He rebounds, he hustles, he dives for loose balls. He does his job

2.) You don't need superstars at each position to win a title. You do need role players to help the team. Without them doing their jobs you can't win. All the Celtic's role players did their jobs and they deserve their rings

Rondo can't shoot. He's a liability that is being exposed more and more as teams adjust.

And Rondo would have to stand on a high chair just to be able to have a conversation with Payton about their respective NBA careers. GP has every authority to rag on Rondo.
