Nixluva, enjoy the game my friend!

I got in real late last night so I couldn't post, but we REALLY had a good time, despite the loss. We got into some real good back and forth with the friendly Atlanta fans, who some of them were VERY passionate and vocal about their team. The Philips Arena is nice, but like many modern arenas it's a bit lacking in some ways, but very ergonomic in other ways. It's not a huge place, but that makes it very comfy. They do a real good job of keeping the fans involved and entertained. It's clearly a very family friendly place. They have a lot of the usual stuff, kiss cams, gymnastic dunking, air canon tee shirt shooting and a cute stuffed animal parachute drops from the ceiling.

You can still see the ceiling has damage from the tornado that hit Atlanta. I had some center court seats on the 1st level and it was cool to see how the players really sized up. No matter how many times I go to a game it's still a shock to see how big these guys are after watching on TV so much. There were plenty of Knick fans there and we had moments of chatter and everyone said the same thing, wait til 2010!

The Knicks looked like they were playing in slo motion. I didn't get to see any of the broadcast, but from what we saw the Knicks were slowing things down in what I would guess was an effort to conserve energy. The lack of any breakdown players or go to guy on the team is so glaring that it's easy to see why we'll have problems at the end of games until we can add a Stud or at least a lead guy. Right now the only guy I can think of is Nate. He's short, but the only guy we've got that can break a team down and create something. Without his explosiveness we just can't sustain the energy. Chandler isn't that kind of player, not yet anyway and I HOPE that Gallo can be more of a guy who can create his own offense and be a go to guy at some point next year. If not we'll have to sit thru yet another season like this one will likely be. Decent role players and a few wins against weak teams, but losing games that we have a chance to win if we don't have someone to step up and take charge.

Anyway fun night and I plan to try and do it again.

I'm going to be going with my kids. We're coming up from Macon. I'm not too familiar with the Phillips Arena, but maybe we can hook up at Halftime.
