We're Saved!!!

........

Jared Jeffries is expected to return to the Knicks on Friday night when the team takes on the Hawks.

Jeffries has yet to play this season after injuring himself during training camp.

"We'll mostly want him to be diving to the basket," coach Mike D'Antoni said, "getting the ball moving and being kind of a glue, being another point guard on the floor."

I thought that was Q's job?

Anyways, it actually is good news. He's going to be rusty as hell but I wondered what he'd do under Mike's system. Guys like Jeffries have a knack of looking really good in it.

We need the extra body nonetheless. It also means Malik Rose might never play again so it's really a two-for here!

can anyone actually remember Jeffries having a positive effect on a game? I even remember Malik's horrible ass doing some good things once in awhile.. but jesus this guy is really bad... hopefully playing center will improve his play and he doesnt have to be on the outside where he is horrific

I imagine that can be a pretty effective defensive strategy

Jeffries may not be great-- but he will MOST CERTAINLY be better than that clown Malik Rose.

And Jeffries actually introduces a skill set we don't currently have...a 6'11" potential shot blocker. Don't be so quick to judge. Let him play first.

Jeffries is a career 0.4 shotblocker, as previously stated Wilson Chandler and Renaldo Balkman are better shot blockers than Jared Jeffries who is Carvel soft in the paint. Jeffries rather guard 6'4" perimeter players. That not my opinion but stated fact by his former coaches.
I don't like to play bad rookies , I like to play good rookies - Mike D'Antoni

I thought MDA was raving about JJ during training camp. We shall see.

"In a week or so, when he gets rolling, I expect energy defense, really being a glue," D'Antoni said. "He's a real smart player. He'll keep David Lee's energy up. They played great together in camp. I want to see that again. And it trickles down the line. We won't have a dropoff when teams put in their energy guys."

Jared Jeffries is not a shot blocker. He is a 6'11 shooting guard who can't shoot. Even in NBA 2k9 he is listed as a SG....BTW I am a Jamaican Jet fan too

I really do think Jeffries is going to play alright under D'Antoni.

Jeffries limited game was built to play in D'Antoni's system which is pretty close to the same system that he played in at Indiana U where he thrived. I think he'll play pretty well.

Boris Diaw was an absolute scrub before MikeD got a hold of him. Can something similar happen with Jeffries? I think it's possible.

Yep, and who did he have it for? Mike D! In what circumstance? On a depleted team!

I'm not saying anything here other than in this present situation and given Jeffries' style of play and Mike's system that he might do well enough to not warrant being hunted down and chucked in the east river, that's all.
