James has just said that he will opt out after this season. He wants to play. Give me one good reason why he shouldn't play.

If we played half court, I say go for it. I'd like to see Jerome James and Eddy Curry on the court together, personally.

If he's healthy and in game shape, why not? Gives us another body on the bench and he might even help us match up against some of the bigger teams. I'm not saying he should start, but he is an able body that is available now. MDA's comments after the LAC game when asked about Curry's status was short but direct. He didn't know and didn't sound as if Curry was part of his team. It's looking like you only get one chance with MDA, we'll see if he plays him. More likely, Curry is gone as soon as possible. I'm curious to see if MDA and Walsh will be on the same page on Curry. James could fill the role and he's ready to play now. He has a good attitude about his role and WANTS to play. I'd like to see him get some minutes.

Knicks' James yearns for a chance to get on court
BY ALAN HAHN | alan.hahn@newsday.com
December 1, 2008
As exiled guard Stephon Marbury attempts to negotiate his basketball freedom in a meeting today with Knicks president Donnie Walsh, another player who has been similarly buried by the new regime quietly bides his time with far less attention.

Jerome James knows what he is in the eyes of Knicks fans. He also knows his days are numbered. But all he wants is a few spare minutes before he goes. Seconds, even. Just to shake a little of that reputation as the 7-1, nearly 320-pound center who took a $30-million midlevel exception contract from Isiah Thomas and then treated conditioning as a leisure sport.

"I can't leave New York without at least making my stamp and letting New York know I wasn't here taking money," James said. "That's not me. I've always had a passion for basketball and unfortunately, due to injuries, I wasn't able to show 'em that side of me. I want to show them that side and then I'll get my -- out of here. I'll leave."

Along with Marbury, James is the other player on the Knicks' roster who has yet to see a single tick of playing time by the decision of coach Mike D'Antoni.

He can at least give you 10 minutes on the court a night. Run him till he can't run and thats it. We need a big body some games

He didn't say he was opting out of his contract, but actually that once he exercises his option, then he will talk buyout. Ha, you can hate him for the pathetic signing he has been, but the guy isn't dumb. He wants his money. He has too many cheeseburgers to buy before he gets out of here.

Nooo Noooo Noooooooo. I'm not falling for this. You don't think Jerome was chuckling and going (Wink wink) when he said he'd opt out? Take fatty for his word, but just continue to sit him on the bench so he gets pissed enough to opt out. Hopefully Curry wont be too far behind!

Ok, yes, he did say buyout.

"As for negotiating a buyout of his own, James said he wouldn't do that until after this season because he has a $6.6-million player option for 2009-10. The 33-year-old veteran said he would be willing to talk about a buyout once he exercises his option. But before then, he just wants to see some live action just one more time. "If I'm able to play a couple of games, play passionately and let people know I really wanted to play, hell, next year I will, buy me out," he said. "I'm out. I'm gone.""

jerome makes me sick. he still thinks isiah is in charge, where you can get floor time just by rep, contract and "we need a center" thinking. eff you jerome if you think you deserve to play because of anything other than hard work from offseason to offseason.

Just proves that the Marbury situation is a joke....what exactly is the big deal about Marbury? what is the difference between him and jerome? 14 mil? If thats the case then shame on whoever....Marbs and Jerome arent in the plans. Jerome if anything has a role cuz the Knicks dont have a center.

sigh....

why hand him playing time? if he wants to play, tell him he has to get his fat ass in shape. i don't expect to see him on the floor again.

Yeah, what's the message to Curry if you're just going to let Jerome play. Jerome is allowed to be out of shape but Curry isn't? Please.

James has just said that he will opt out after this season. He wants to play. Give me one good reason why he shouldn't play.

I'll give you several good reasons.

Marbury is virtually out the door with parting shots (figures). Curry is going to be gone. James is the same way. No quality in any of these three guys. They simply got to go. How many times is it going to take to see that Jerome is completely useless. With the injuries and then the non production he puts up when he did' get time to play.

We're a .500 club without James, Curry, Marbury and now Zach and Crawford. Approximatly a 40 wins club on pace. This is what we really needed to accomplish first and then Walsh goes out and gives us something even better. He opened up cap space.

To me, the first three mentioned above are not worth talking about anymore. Period.
I'll never trust this' team again.

This guy hasn't been in game shape since he got here. Same thing with Curry. Jerome's been sitting around like all the other moochers, collecting checks while not having to do a thing. Ever since that trend started with Houston, I have grown so tired of of players coming here, getting big checks and not putting up the numbers we have so desperately been needing, and so, the sooner we ship this kind of player off this team, the better off we will all be.
I'll never trust this' team again.

We are not so bad to have Jerome entertaining the MSG crowd.
He is not dumb - he made a lot of money for nothing. Even clown needs to work hard to be paid.
But there is no need for clowns any more... he should sign back with Globetrotters.

Then I guess we're back to Jeffries at Center. At least he has one good leg to stand on

Jeffries also has this... fishlips. And he looks funny at times... when it is not looking scary; like some other part of his body will fall off.
