Check out this quote from Marbury in todays Post...

"When things got bad and then worse, guys like Quentin Richardson say, 'I don't consider him a teammate. He let his teammates out to dry.' He didn't care I was his teammate when I was banished. They left me out for dead. It's like we're in a foxhole and I'm facing the other way. If I got shot in the head, at least you want to get shot by the enemy. I got shot in the head by my own guys in my foxhole. And they didn't even give me an honorable death."

What type of drugs is this guy on? He's complaining about his teammates leaving him out to dry...the same way he left his teammates out to dry when he quit on his team in phoenix. Or the same way he left his teammates out to dry that night in Orlando when he didn't put up a shot and tanked the game just to prove a selfish point to LB....Like he left his teammates out to dry whe we were short handed.....Unbelievable.

Heres the rest of the story.

I repeat: Why do we care about Stephon Marbury? He has done nothing for us. In his tenure we have won 23, 33 and 23 games. Why do we care?

I saw the article before Uptown created this thread. I too was astonished at his remarks and told to myself that I should not be surprised at anything this man says. He truly is living in his own world. Anybody that signs this fool should also be checked for insanity.

In reading the articles today, it looks like Walsh is moving closer to buying Marbury out. They still seem to want to put conditions on it, which is probably a mistake. Just send this guy whereever. It is not like we are going to be competing for a championship this year or next, so really is Marbury going to comeback and hurt us. So what if he goes to Boston or Miami. Just get him out of town.

Marbury is delusional, but he is right that MDA basically had it out for him from the start. I think Walsh and MDA were not on the same page. Walsh was willing to just let Marbury play out his contract until something materialized. MDA wanted no part of Marbury on the team. My only thing is, after you tell Marbury you are not part of the future and that you cannot play, when you know the guy worked hard to come into camp in shape and did not complain about coming off the bench, how can you then go back to him and ask him to play. I would have either never banned Marbury to begin with or stuck with my initial decision to sit him. If I made an offer for him to play, it would have been done in a non-public manner.

This guy is beyond delusional. He's a cancer. He will hang everyone out to dry at his convienance, and when he's called on it, he bitches like a child.

He is the poster child for the immature, spoiled, mentally divergent superstar. At this point I shouldn't have only thrown out my Marbury Knick Jersey, I should have spit on it.

Anyone who defends him, and talks about Walsh or D'Anotni messing this up, is delusional themselves. This is a guy who over and over and over and over has destroyed relationships with players, coaches, and GMs. When do you, as a fan, start to realize how REALLY messed up this guy is? He's a serial rapist and you keep blaming the women for dressing too pretty.

it's hard to imagine a person choosing to to torture themselves and their teammates if he were getting better offers, but i suppose with wackobury anything is possible. but i can't see any team risking more than a couple of mil on him to try him out off the bench.

it'll take a miracle to resurrect his career, but i hope he gets a chance so that when he gets no better than a bench role, and he alienates himself from yet another franchise, the last of his supporters will finally be free of any remaining delusions about his talent, character, or what he can do for a club.

I agree, he should have been sent home from night one if MDA's intentions were to sit him. He could have waited in Pennyville until a buyout was worked out.

I blame Walsh more than anything because he clearly wasnt on the same page as his coach. It was clear MDA wanted no parts of him (I believe it was Walsh that told him to come back in shape for the season) becaase Wanted to show case him. MDA shipped Marbury out in Pho so it was clear before MDa was hired that there might be a problem if Marb was still here. Just like Isiah not completely being banished from the franchise, Walsh dropped the ball on not removing Marb before the season began.

Lets all hope for the thought that before this day is over steph will no longer be a Knick.Believing in the NBA Gods, maybe we can do a marion deal for curry and ship steph way out west, alto I cant imagine who would want him.Right now if Walsh and Dolan bought him out for the whole amount I think they would welcome that to just get him the hell outta town. And if steph comes out in public, after his trade and says this and that about the Knicks Organization I would hope that the Knicks just say"no comment" and let this issue die a just death. No one in their right mind is going to believe anything that steph says at this point no matter how much spin he puts on it.Stephs rep is of a team killer and it will always be that way.IMO I cant imagine a player, from his home town in his home city and in the Greatest Arena in the World messing up the situation he had.Its deplorable!! There are players on the streets, better than steph that would kill to just to shoot at the baskets in The Garden. When I was a kid growing up in NYC, and my now my 2 sons aged 27 and 23, been following Knicks game all my life and all my sons lives, The Garden is where you want to be. Steph messed this up royally and anyone who says no doesnt know what its means to play in the GREATEST CITY IN THE WORLD, in front of the greatest fans in the WORLD. WITH THAT COOCH IS OUT!

I totally agree. Nobody cares what this moron thinks, says or does. What I do care about though is how the Knicks GM and head coach handles situations like this and others concerning their players. Because that has a direct impact on the public perception of the team and affects their ability to attract good players, coaches and executives.

Why are there so many stories written by Berman on our site. All he does is promote Marbury. We should have maybe one article at best by Berman. Yet we have 2 of the top articles and 7 blog posted by Berman. He is a PR person for Marbury. I wouldn't be surprised if he was on Marbury's payroll.

I've stopped reading Berman and would love to see more articles from other papers and writers. And the Seven Seconds or Mess is always a good and interesting analysis. Let's get them on the UK site. I won't read another article about Marbury unless it is the one where he is gone!

Recent SSoM from youtube....much more interesting, IMO. What do you guys think?

How ruffled are Marbury's feathers after Duhon just had a fantastic game, while he sits in street clothes?

I agree. There is nothing, short of physically hurting Marbury, that MD and DW could do to Marbury, that would make me sympathetic towards Marbury. Even then, I would have to hear the reasoning.

I was happy but unsure when he came here. We all knew his history. We all looked the other way. Now we know for sure that he is the problem. For anyone to say it Marbury deserves better treatment is silly. The only thing DW should have done from day 1 was to say, he will be traded or alienated from the team until his contract expires. PERIOD. Done. I think they were hoping to use his contract as a commodity but now realize it is a noose around their neck. Cut him loose. Eat the 21 Million, it is a drop in the bucket compared to what Brown, IT, JJ, Curry, etcc...have gotten.

Go sign a young shooting guard who needs to prove himself....Get N8 healthy and the rest of the guys, including Cutino and this team will be alright. The talent is there.

watching a highlight reel of young marbury highlights on youtube... it's so sad what could have been. he's a selfish headcase now, but then... he was a selfish headcase with a helluva a crossover and such a crazy skill set who could just overpower other PGs...

He is a bit like Tim Thomas, in that both have incredible skill sets and athletic abilities, but both have underachieved.

You wouldn't think a player would pass less as they got older, but Marbury seems to have regressed in that regard.

I gave him a clean slate when he got here- defended him some.

But wow, I was wrong.

Good Bye Cancerbury. The only problem with him signing with Miami is he will undoubtedly seal their victory in being a top lotto team!

It is not some quota. It is just my personal thoughts.
But I believe a lot of people get to same point and may be published same thoughts.
Faithful people are not dangerous by themselves but they ate manipulative and usually used by people hungry for power and money.
This "leaders" are usually having no faith in anything but their own good and they are very dangerous.
Steph is not a villain and not a leader, he is short minded person who never get a mentor or friends to teach him life.
Sometimes I feel sorry for all this lost talent. But hey... this is not the worst case. He helped people in his extended family (no matter they deserve it or not) and he gave to charity a lot.
He should be gone... and no hard feelings.
