KNICKS & WOLVES & LAKERS & KINGS & NETS !!!! By position it looks: C=MUTOMBO - KANDI - SHAQ - MILLER - ZO /// PF=MCDYESS - KG - MALONE - WEBBER - KMART /// SF=KVH - WALLY - GEORGE - PEJA - ROGERS /// SG=H2O - SPREWELL - KOBE(maybe) - CHRISTIE - JEFFERSON /// PG=NVE - CASSELL - PAYTON - BIBBY - KIDD !!!! i don't know about you but the KNICKS more than hold there own with the TOP TEAMS in the NBA
What does DICK CHANEY & DON CHANEY have in common ?? They both accidentally fell into a job they don't deserve & really suck at doing it !!!! Both need to be fired !!!

Now I know everyone on this board loved the Knicks, however what have you been smoking my friend? Mutumbo will get eaten alive by a healthy Shaq, Miller/Vlade are better too - Zo remains to be seen and Kandi has a lot of work to do. I cant believe you even listed Dyess in the same sentence as KG, Malone, Webber - and dare I say it K-Mart. Dyess isnt even on the court and you are saying he will hold his own? Put the pipe down!!!! AND you list NVE as a Knick already! Not to mention Deke!!! None of this has happened yet and it may NEVER happen.
The Knicks would look better if they got these players and that is a big if. I wouldnt wait around holding my breath until Layden pulls the trigger.

i agree. we can not count our chickens before they hatch. remember, we were supposed to have webber three years ago and van exel last year. even if the best case scenerio did happen, the west is still better than us by far. i still think that the nets and detroit will still rank ahead of us. i think we would be deadlocked with a healthy ( big if) new orleans team. as a matter of fact, the nets, with a healthy and rejuvanated zo, will still be ranked far ahead of us because of kidd, arguably the best point guard in the league.

Not to mention you have some of the positions wrong. Rogers is more PF than SF, and a backup. Kittles is the SG. Jefferson is a SF, not a SG.

Also, NVE? He would definitely be an upgrade over our current bunch, but after losing Jamison, GS isn't going to give up their new "star" for Ward and Thomas, unless GS just loves playing lotto.

Let's look by position:

C = 1. Shaq 2. Zo 3. Miller 4. Kandi 5. Mutumbo
PF = 1. KG 2. Webber 3. Malone (at 40, he's incredible) 4. Kmart 5. McDyess
SF = 1. Peja 2. Jefferson 3. KVH,Wally (TIE) 5. George
SG = 1. Kobe 2. Spree 3. Houston 4. Christie 5. Kittles
PG = 1. Kidd 2. Payton 3. NVE 4. Bibby 5. Cassell

Yeah, wow, we really stack up well against those guys. Even with NVE, we would not have one single guy who is best at his position. Or second best. Would we get into the playoffs with that lineup? We'd better in the near-worthless East, but we would be about as good as 5th seed. Enough for Layden to keep his job, not enough to make NY fans happy.

I am warming up to having mutumbo as it can open more trade ops for us.

NVE is exciting player, but I think he is over rated based on his playoff performance.

NVE is over rated because of his playoff performance and the fact that he was playing on a very good team. Also, Bibby is a much more solid PG - I would take him over Van X any day of the week.

Oasis- I used to think he was over-rated... I don't anymore. He has serious skills and is clutch. He has matured and is very smart with the ball. He can penerate, he can shoot, and bring the ball up.
