Portland
Memphis
Detroit
Oklahoma City
Indiana
Atlanta
A couple other clubs have opt in issues. Out of this list I can see any of these clubs making a play for Lee on a contract that starts that averages 10 and starts at 8.25mm$

Right off the bat you can cancel four teams on that list.

Dumars didn't open up the cap to offer Lee a big deal
Portland has Oden and Larmarcus
He didn't get traded to Memphis because he isn't going there
Hawks have Smith and Horford

The guy deserves 9 million and he will get it. Tyson Chandler sucks and makes 11, Nene got 10, Eddy got 10, Any decent big gets that, and Lee will put up better numbers then nearly every power forward if he gets big minutes

LOL at your logic. Just because people gave out bad contracts to other players(including Isiah giving Curry 10 mill) does not mean we have to do the same. And Tyson Chandler far from sucks. He plays defense, rebounds, and blocks shots. He's a very efficient center. All Lee can do is rebound and score off put backs. He has no post game,, no outside shot, no defense, no shot blocking. At least Nene blocks shots and has a decent post game. Lee is great at one thing - rebounding. That's not worth $9 million a year.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

David Lee is a good player--- it's poor planning to count anyone out. I would say that the team I would fear most is Memphis. Even if it's true that he somehow nudged a deal from not happening---Memphis obviously likes him and has huge holes at PF. He's a very very nice fit there and at the end of the day money is going to talk loud and clear--it always does. He's going to get a contract that averages 9-10mm from them IMHO.

Man, can you imagine if he signs an offer sheet with Memphis after killing the draft-day deal to go there that cost us the 5th pick??? He'd be villian #1 in NY if he ever pulled that as far as I'm concerned...

I think you can also scratch Oklahama off the list. If Lee didn't want to go to Mepmphis, he sure ain't going there.

Based on the same criteria, I think Indiana is a stretch as well.

I could see Portland- and they're pretty stacked up front,- Detroit and Atlanta as being the best positioned.

Chances are, though, Lee will sign the qualifying offer and play one more season in NYC.

They will do whatever LeBron will ask them to do...

Lee has never told any team he didnt want to play there. Chandler block one more shot a game than Lee and has no offensive game or he would average more than 8 points a game. Lee is a better rebounder but if you want to pay 5 million dollars a year for a blocked shot a game go ahead. Kaman, Turiaf, Biedrins, are all in the top 5 in the league in blocked shots and their team is terrible.

Since you got the real scoop, why dont you clue us in. What really happened with Memphis? It was reported that Lee's agent informed Memphis that he wouldn't sign an extention with them. Is this true?
