It was basically going to be that way either way, except now it'll just be a little worse.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Relax Tex, it's not going to suck for that long.

Think of it like this, the band-aid has been ripped off in one swift move instead of dragging it on slloooowwwwllllyyyy.

As a result

- The Don can now make trades without being at a position of disadvantage of desperately needing an ending contract.

That ship has sailed. He know has two years with Mike D to mold the team into a cohesive unit and make tweaks and trades to improve the current roster. Just as long as he doesn't break the rule of adding contracts that run too long.

Removing the top 2 players would temporarily devastate most teams, which is why

- Mike D'Antoni was such a great move. A real Coach. Players love him and we may not win much with this group as currently is but we'll improve again and will look like a team again.

That's what Mike D does, his gameplan will make the rebuild look entertaining.

Give it a couple of weeks for everyone to get settled and expect another move before the trade deadline.

I would suggest watching college ball though, we may end up with a lottery pick yet again.

You can actually skip all games with teams powerfull inside.
All the rest will be entertaining 50/50 bbal.
We should get like 33-35 wins. Not good for the lottary but at least some entertainment.

what knicksbaby said

Extracting your top two scorers will do that.

The transition was never going to be easy. The sudden departure of guys you go to war with, no matter what the outside opinion of their personalities is, it was a shock to those remaining in more ways than just on the court.

Training camp starts over and it will take at least a month to orient Thomas and Harrington. Al still dribbles too much and Tim Thomas needs a defined role. Cuttino Mobley must get Nate's minutes as Roberson has not displayed his Summer League accuracy. Jeffries has a new baby and a new leg to strengthen,

See you in February.

Only thing to look forward to in the next two years will be getting Curry right and the moving him, Watching Gallo play hopefully this year or next and waiting for the 09 draft to see who we may be able to scoop up, hopefully we get lucky and get Rubio. Other than that I see no reason to watch Bball for a while. At least I have the Giants and a new stadium with the Mets to look forward to.

Like fishmike say, knicks are going to be fighting for a playoffs spot.

They may even finish at .500 Despite the fact, they traded Randolph and Crawford, they got players in return that fit into D'antoni's system. Mobley, Thomas and Harrington can all play in this system.

My only concern is the rebounding! Besides Lee or Qrich, who can rebound the ball consistently.

If we suck, big whop. At least it's because we're sucking for the bigger picture in the future. Besides, it's been 7 years. Two more wont kill ya.

Basketball may not suck as much as you think, at least after probably a month of practicing the new guys.By then the playoffs may start to slip away and if that's the case, so be it. I don't think winning 23 or 33 will be a difference as it seems those with more get better picks so in that department I don't think we have to intentionally tank.

I think that this season should be more about acquiring the talent than anything else. That means we not only have to trade Curry at some point, but those trades can't be simply to free up space. Walsh is doing a fast rebuilding here and now he has to find ways to make trades that being us young talent on the rise.

And make no mistake about it: the knicks not necessarily have to make the playoffs this season, but next season its a must, so the personel has to improve a lot.

f#$@cking years, I am happy we cleared cap cause we werent going anywhere anyway, but 2 years without basketball is gonna be tough.

If you can survive eight years basically without a good structured team, then you can most 'certainly' survive two more years, can't you? For me, it is a pleasure to wait. If this team can acquire at least' 40 wins this year, then it would show the huge improvement we have made so far. King James has already recognized this in his own words himself, when he said he likes what we are doing.

The wait should be approached as if it is a pleasure to wait. You guys get to witness what it takes to build a contending team in the NBA. Yes 'TIME' like a fine wine. A legit threat. You've already witnessed the two fine execs dolan has brought in. One who the floor mastermind and the other, the elder statesmen developing the troops. That's how it all started and it all began a year and a half ago. As a matter of fact, when you think of it, things are going much quicker than anticipated.

I thought we needed more time myself, but in conversations and thoughts form several others on this board, I have learned that moving quickly on some of the moves was key to getting to were we are now.

Be a part of the growth so you can one day say 'you were there when it all went down'. It is very, very important that Knick fans recognize this kind of growth and not' the old way were it was always the 'win-now' attitude, were there was obviously lots and lots of senseless spending on wasted opportunity and no thought involved in the moves that were made.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Just a friendly reminder, the 10-3 Cavs are not the Wizards.

Without Nate, make that the top three scorers suddenly gone.

The shot attempts must be redistributed and the love affair with the three point shot must be more selective. Scoring 28 points in the paint won't get it. Quentin Richardson MUST look to pass the ball more. Only one assist from him is unacceptable.

Let's see what we have first. He might end up helping us, if we give him a chance. I'm not so quick to throw anyone off this team who might help us achieve minimal goals at this time.

And sadly I admit, I don't give the same credit to Marbury, who has had several years to show us.
I'll never trust this' team again.

You know the chances of releasing him, with Walsh here, are nonexistent. But I do believe that Walsh isn't done yet so hopefully he will trade for a young C.

Rigth now the most important thing is to get Curry and Jeffries on the court playing. The latter is on his way, but I'm surprised no updates have been given on Curry. We need him back ASAP!

Dude, we already have sucked for the last 6 or so years and we had no plan. Now at least sucking is within the context of a plan I can support.

I need a better reason to get depressed than "basketball is gonna suck for two years". In fact, I suspect that [NBA] basketball may suck forever, and I still feel pretty good.

I believe mike will keep it ok for a while. He did good with our 23 win team early and I think he can get the current group on track.

I don't think we will be the worst team in the league.

And if we are, and we get a nice pick, then its what must happen. REbuilding sucks, but it must be.

If we can't be good, then we must have hope.

I think the injury/Marbury situation make things alot worse right now. Walsh would be smart to waive Marbury and pick up a player at this point.
