Coming up for a second segment (I was in the car for the 1st):

Michael Kay skeptical that LeBron will come to NY in 2010. Stephen A. saying, "He's all business. He's gonna do what he wants to do, simple as that. And Akron's [where LeBron's from, a suburb of Cleveland] not Cleveland. Akron's 30 minutes away."

Stephen A. also added he has a hard time seeing Wade leaving Miami and the nice Florida lifestyle to come and be second banana to LeBron in NY in 2010, but could definitely see Amare or Bosh coming to the Knicks. Kay pointing out that Wade also won it all already (the other guys haven't) and the Knicks might not want Wade anyway - he'll be 29 with 2 bad knees. Smith also saying Amare wants the limelight for himself and wants to be thought of as one of the best players in the game and he doesn't think he can attain that with Phoenix anymore with Shaq now on the team and with D'Antoni's departure (Smith's writing an article about Amare that will appear on ESPN's web site in about a week).

Smith saying also that a lot of people behind the scenes in Pheonix (players included) said that defense was never a concern for D'Antoni, even in the playoffs & after tough losses....

2nd segment on now - talking about the whole Stephon Marbury fiasco and who to believe, Mike or Steph..

Kay also said Thomas and Harrington will play tonight, but no Cattino....

Kay said earlier in the show that there's a rumor out there that Nike has a secret agreement with LeBron to pay him $100 million in the event that he came to NY. That would more than make up the difference between the max. the Cavs could pay him in 2010 when he becomes a FA (6 yrs. with 10% pay raises each season for over $130 million total) and another team at the time like the Knicks (only limited to 5 yrs., 6% pay raises per season for just over $100 million). Interesting...

Might not be the most original rumor out there but you can't deny the impact LeBron coming to NY would have on sales of Nike products in and around NYC. NYC alone has a popluation of around 8.2 million people (#1 population of any US city). The entire Metropolitan area has upwards of 20 million people total (#1 population of any tri-state area in the US). That's a lot of potential LeBron fans and tons of business for Nike. There's gotta be something to it...

Cuttino could sit out the rest of the season for all I care. As long as the trade was finalized.
If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System

That's what I thought initially also but Tommy Dee in his blog said all 3 new guys practiced today but I betcha Cuttino missed most of it running around getting the extra heart tests done. He probably missed most of the practice and didn't get a chance to familarize himself with the playbook. Can't put the guy out there if he has no idea what he's doing. I bet that's it.

Didn't Kobe once list 4 teams he wanted to be dealt too when he was demanding a trade and one of the was NY? And that was with a ****ty 33 win team with Isiah coaching. We can get superstars, trust me.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Yes that is why Mobley, is not playing, not because of a bad ticker, if he had that problem then I am sure the trade would've been voided.

Whatever. Knicks are rebuilding either we get a free agent in 2010 or not. Only the stupid media makes a statement like "for NY its Lebron or bust". If he decides to stay in Cleveland, whatever. The Knicks still have a lot of work to do to improve their team for now and for the future.

The point is, if we get Lebron or not, we still have to take the same steps to rebuild.

Joe Johnson, Amare and Steve Nash will all rejoin D'antoni in 2010
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

If thats the case then we go into 2011 with our draftpicks and plenty of cap space to sign good players. Oh well
