Darko is garbage but I rather have that bum riding our pine that Curry. Curry can still be a valuable asset in this league. Curry would definately balance the Memphis line-up. They are getting 0 production out of Darko and Hakim Warrick is not a basketball player. Curry can easily average 10 of the bench for that squad. Come on Donnie! Get er' done!

Successful Trade Scenario
Congratulations on a successful trade.
Due to New York being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. New York had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

There is 0 production out of Darko but compared to Curry's production, Darko should be an all-star. The Grizzlies have no incentive to trade for an overweight, injured Curry at this point. I also doubt they'd be willing to take back that salary considering how cheap the Grizzlies owner is.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

I say get her done. What's best case for both guys at this point? Darko is probably 8/6/1.5 in limited minutes and Curry is 10/5 in limited minutes. The Knicks may actually marginally improve from this deal because it's nice to have someone that may alter a shot.

But they were willing to trade for Zach Randolph. Yes, Zach is a far superior player than Eddy Curry, but you cannot tell me the Grizzlies wouild not become a better team with Curry coming off the bench for 20-25 mins. Marc Gasol is a beast, but the center position (especially in the western conference) is one that requires depth. Eddy Curry can draw double teams which would alleviate some of the pressure of Gay and Mayo. Darko is the definition of a bust and would be on our team solely for cap relief in 2010. When is the last time you watched a Grizzlies game and said "Good move Darko!". Never! Because he has none. He is a poor poor poor man's European version of Ben Wallace. I will send a second rounder to get this deal done.

Maybe if the Knicks take back Buckner's vomit inducing contract, it could work. Knicks get some blocked shots and carry $4.3 million instead off $11.3 in that most critical of summers.

I'd do that but I think Buckner plays big minutes for them right now. They'd probably try to force Jaric on us in which case I'll pass. Maybe we can fool them into trading Fatoine for Curry.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Warrick's already averaging 10 & 6 off the bench for them, why would they wanna take on Curry's contract for the same relative production? does that make sense?

He's averaging 6.3 minutes in 6 games played... and the only reason it's that high is because one game he played 15 minutes.

Curry's not healthy yet. When he can play we should be able to trade him.

Ok but that is the only production off the bench. Kyle Lowry offers 0 production and Hakim Warrick does not have a low post game.

IMO if u want Warrick & Darko they will ask for D Lee & Malik in the deal... i don't want any part of that type of trade... MEM has Marc Gasol playing very well for them in the low post, they have no need to take on Curry's contract at this point... i personally don't see MEM as a viable option for a Curry trade to be honest.

I feel Memphis will try to pick up Curry at the deadline, especially if he loses weight.

The main thing right now is getting him back in the court. What worries me is that its been a while since we've heard anything new on him.

why trade him for nothing?

Lets get Curry back, tell him he's a huge part of the franchise (at least his ass is) getting back to being productive and then trade his ass.

Your telling me he couldnt give you say 14/5/55% in 20 minutes off the bench? We need bigs!

Other teams will bite on that.. he's got size

The thing that bothers me the most about Eddy Curry is that he just doesn't take his craft seriously - never did. No joke, the man just doesn't care. Guy's making millions yet shows up season after season out of shape, including this year, knowing Mike D'Antoni was brought in to coach the team... Now we're reading in the paper the other day that the Knicks were actually upset at him for not pushing himself hard enough to get back on the court. I mean can you imagine that? Think about that for a second. This guy's a complete joke - I want him gone ASAP. Even at 19.5 & 7 a few seasons ago, he was still a farce and everyone associated with anything NBA knew it. No defense to speak of, no real go-to moves inside other than barreling right over people resulting in countless offensive fouls, awful footwork, horrendous FT shooter, terrible passer, no b-ball IQ at all. What ever he gives you is complete fools gold. Face facts, the guy's just a below average basketball player masquerading in an elephant's body. Enough with this clown already. 20 & 7... Come on man. Isiah made him look good by slowing it down and continuely force-feeding him the ball. Regarding that "successful" campaign he had a couple of seasons ago under Isiah - he reminded me of a rotten closer in baseball - by the end of the season, he gotcha 30 saves but everyone knew damn well he was lously and you had a good chance to beat him in the 9th. There is no way in hell this guy will ever be productive playing for D'Antoni in an up-tempo pace.

If Memphis ever decided they wanted this loser for Darko and Warrick you do it in a heartbeat if you're the Knicks. Even for Antoine Walker in a straight up salary dump just to get this bum outta here and move on...

they don't have any expirings other than Juan Dixon & he makes less than 1 mil, not enough to even out the dollars.

I hate Curry just as much as the next Knicks fan but you cannot discount the man's skill to put the ball in the basket. If not for our injuries in the season where he averaged 20 & 7, we would have been playoff bound.
Why can't we just trade Curry for Darko already?
