Those are the kindsa numbers he will put up all year if he gets a bump in minutes post Zach trade. If he would except something like 5/37.5 I would re-sign him right now. We could front load the deal to create more space for 2010.

The key is moving Curry and Jeffries. Than we can structure extensions for Nate and Lee and maybe even Duhon that would still give us enough space to sign a couple of heavy impact FA's.

I personally think a core of Nate, Lee, Chandler, Gallo and another first rounder could potentially be developed to the point where Lebron, Amare or whoever comes in here isn't walking into a barren field. If we could add 2 big FA's and another solid vet with the midlevel (I'm talking about an older guy like Nash, Pierce etc.), you are talking about a far deeper team than Boston through out there last year.

David Lee strikes me as the prototypical good-stats, bad-team player. Randolph was better so he got the stats. Someone has to get the ball and Lee's hustle gets him that when there is no one with ability to compete for the ball.

and no defense...He is still a keeper...I think we resign him along with Nate as part of a solid bench..

There is no need to resign Lee if he is not going to be a long term starter. Also as far as Gallo and Chandler it looks like Chandler is going to be ahead of Gallo with NBA experience. Until I see Gallo play a full season I do not even put him into the equation.

If the Knicks sign Amare there is no reason to pay Lee big bucks to come off the bench.

The front court would be;

Amare
Chandler
Lebron

There is no chance of Lee starting. Why resign Lee for big bucks just to come off the bench? If the Knicks get star players there will be players we can sign that can rebound that we do not have to throw out big dollars at.

As far as Duhon the Knicks can always resign him for the MLE after they sign the big name players.

SUPER disagree here. David Lee is a hustle, team first player who could put up great stats on winning teams. Randolph IS the prototypical good stats, bad team guy.

I also think the Lee lost out the most in Marbury not playing as well...I think he got lots of easy baskets as a result of Marbs getting in the lane...He got lots of nice dishes and easy put backs in previous years...His jumper isn't falling the way it was in the preseason but I think there is hope there because we saw they were falling at one point...I also think not being resigned immediately affected his play..I think he is a guy that lets the business aspect of the game affects his play on the court...They good thing is all his problems can be resolved and he can be an effective players for us down the road...

If Zach was on the Cavs or Lakers you don't think he would have big stats? Zach can get those stats on any team.

If Lee ever learns to play D, he'd be 100% on my no trade list. As it is I would only trade him if we were getting huge value back.
