A plan is now in effect. One that I can fully support...as long as they don't do anything stupid. Like messing up another lottery pick.

Oh and there's an extra benefit. If the Knicks had made a run for the 7th or 8th seeds with the team Walsh inherited, Isiah would have been everywhere telling anyone who would listen that he was right all along. Now with the team gutted of most of his prize acquisitions, that's no longer possible.
If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System

the plan was already in place. We're seeing the first movements to implement the goal of the plan.

While true, blaming Isiah and praising Walsh isn't all too correct either...Dolan is the guy that had the Knicks in the wilderness the last 8 years... He refused to rebuild..That said, I may have even preferred Isiah drafting than Walsh...Isiah however, has proven to be just god awful constructing a roster...

I support the deals because of a ceiling of mediocrity with Jamal and Slach. They could score, but neither could be a leader or defender. I see them as fringe players, not core. They will be journeymen for teams looking for one more piece, but we need so much more than that.

But I gotta be honest, the whole Lebron sweepstakes just reeks of Starphuking. Frazier, Reed, Bradley, King, Ewing, Jackson...those were our boys...drafted and home grown. Even Starks and Mason were our "finds" from other leagues; we brought them to the NBA. They were our guys.

Sure, you can add on a Debussier, Oakley or Harper to finish the puzzle, but I like it when the big peices are our own.

I hope we can get a stud in FA, but not as much as I hope we can draft one of our own. I want a nice 15 year lifecycle on a league-changer more than 5 years on a midlife star with a lot of miles and a list of demands.

The Crawford and Randolph deals threw some salt on the wound of Isiah's fiscal irresponsibility. Talent wise, we always knew these guys weren't going anywhere.

I am so glad that the pathetic Isiah will never get a chance to say "I told you so."

We can hope Gallo can develope into a Ganobli type player, Chander as a near all star level, and get a very high pick this year.

One can hope that even with A lebron that we can continue to draft well and develope players that can keep us in play for years after.
Find and trade for underappreciated players that come into their own in the right system of play.

If somehow Lebron/Bosh were to land here right now we would not be championship caliber. We have to set the table for the next two years and then some.

Difference is Al-Cat-Gazy are not our new core nor will play ahead of our utes as they would under Isiah.

Dolan has made shift. Fired Isiah and has people in place to fill a plan.

Things are changing.

great move by walsh & co. mourning the loss of crawford and z-bo is absolutely ridiculous, crawford was a nice player, i liked watching him, but he has the worst winning % of all players in the nba, he's a terrible defender, they were going nowhere with him. if anybody thinks z-bo is a winning player after seeing portland last year do a 180 after trading him, you're crazy. he racks up the points and boards, but he plays no D, can't pass, and is the antithesis of a leader. this team is going nowhere, it makes sense to make two trades on the same day to clear up cap room for one of the best FA classes of all-time in 2010, and to also potentially get a guy like blake griffin, ricky rubio (what is up with this guy, is he eligible or not?), etc this year, A+ moves.

Blue- the one thing these trades did is not give up any of our young core. You could very well see Chandler, Nate, Lee, Gallo + our 2009 number 1 pick emerge as players to complement the core piece we pick up in FA- and one may very well turn out to be a core piece themselves.

I think we underestimate our young core. They COULD get better.

Maybe V, maybe. They're all capable of some terrific outings, I'm just not so sure how many are real starters.

But we really haven't had a big draft since Mark Jackson. You can't stay competitive as a franchise over the long haul with that kind of drafting.

Even if you are unable to sign one of the free agents, starting over is the best move we could possibly make
I just hope that people will like me
