2010 free agents (i put them in order of people i wanted on the knicks):

LeBron James (player option), Joe Johnson, Dirk (player option), Amare Stoudemire (player option -- played with D'Antoni and flourished), Bosh (player option), Ray Allen, Stephen Jackson, Rip Hamilton, Manu, Michael Redd (player option), Camby, McGrady, Josh Howard (PO).

Dwade has a player option but I think he'll stay in South Beach. Brad Miller is also a FA.

if the goal is to free up enough cap space to sign 2 of those guys, i'd imagine they'll move lee to get a pick in 2010. they need to make a good pick this year, with the gallinari pick looking ugly right now.

true, lebron isnt a guarantee. but joe johnson is a top 10 player, he's an outright FA. amare, as i mentioned, played for D and is on an aging, changing team. s-jax, manu, both outright FAs. none of these guys are going to be intrigued by playing for d'antoni at MSG for lots of cash? yea right.

Dont fool yourself, it is all about Lebron. Getting anyone else is a waste of time and will not net us a championship.

all this has been repeated ad nauseum around here by some of us but there are posters who just refuse to get it... the only way they'll ever be believers is the day this team gets back to the Finals again.

Yeah, just make some deals for draft picks, make good picks in the draft and give me more young players to root for while we are at that. That should make the two years less painful.
