Job no.1 right now is to rehab the value of Eddy Curry. D'Antoni has proven he can get these players to look good again (how down were you on Zach Randolph). If Curry is in shape and can focus on his scoring, he'll look like a much more valuable piece. Showcase Curry and move him the same way we moved Zach and JCraw. If possible, package him with Jeffries, who will also be showcased. Move these two guys and you free another 14 million dollars. Now you can re-sign Nate and Lee and pick up a couple of FA's and a savvy vet wit.h a mid-level deal.

Now we're talking.

A buyout if needed when the time comes is no longer ' out of the question'. If we can't get this big moth'a of all big moth's to shape and ship, then dolan would have to consider it.

It's either keep Curry or go for Lebron. A complete no brainer.

A buyout wouldn't free up the space for Lebron. Get this guy's value up and you can move him for a similar deal as the ones that took place today.

What would be funny is if their next move was to re-up Marbury to another max contract.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

That would be orgasmic news to Berman.

Agreed on Curry.
As for JJ2 -- there is no showcasing of him. The more he plays, the worse he looks.

I think if we're lucky, and ask really really nicely, we can get Marko Jaric for JJ2.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

Give Mike D's miraculous system a chance. You never know. He gets a nice string of games, someone calls and we jump on it.

Let's stop stressing about Eddy's deal now. We just got over everybody and their brother claiming that Zach's deal was immoveable and we all know how that came out.

Eddy's deal will be moved - no worries on that front. We have a real GM making the moves and he knows what he's doing - sit back and watch an expert re-tool this team.

Please no silly talks about buying out Eddy - that only keeps his contract against the cap and defeats the entire purpose.

I think the absolute best case scenario for JJ is trading him for someone with even MORE years on his deal, but who makes less in 2010. Think Matt Carroll. He makes 2.5 mil less in 2010 than JJ2, so that helps, but his contract runs with two more years on it. Or Charlie Bell, who has a contract thats 3 mil less, with one extra year.

I think Jeffries might be more untradable than Curry. He is truly worthless. I think its interesting how D'Antoni was raving about him all summer... Raising his value?

Curry being in shape needs to be #1 priority I agree. We can still make him look pretty good, but right now its a mental thing with him. If anyone can help with that its Mike D

Curry can be moved once he comes back if healthy. Really, the only thing he has to show is that he can move up and down the court without injuring himself and score at a high efficiency. Teams know what they are getting with curry but there are a few with interest in a low post scorer. We should have no problem moving him for an expiring contract.

no. forget curry. he doesn't fit the team and it's not worth it to hurt the team's oncourt play to make him look better. some team will take a risk on him at some point. i think he will opt out after this year if he doesn't play all year. he knows he has no future here.
