The guy is a 20-10 big man. Much more valuable then Jamal, I think you can actually WIN with Zach at the 4 if he has the right center next to him blocking shots. A inside post threat is one of the hardest things to come by in this league and we would be foolish to give it away for nothing.

a SG is much easier to find.

My question is this. If we held on to Zach is there any way we could get under the cap by moving Curry and maybe even Jeffries? While still signing Lee + Nate?

The Knicks completed a wild day of trading on Friday when they sent Zach Randolph and Mardy Collins to the Clippers for Tim Thomas and Cuttino Mobley. The deal comes less than two hours after Donnie Walsh traded Jamal Crawford to the Warriors for Al Harrington.


Meanwhile, FatCessa just said that Walsh's conference call with WFAN has been pushed back!

The Knicks completed a wild day of trading on Friday when they sent Zach Randolph and Mardy Collins to the Clippers for Tim Thomas and Cuttino Mobley. The deal comes less than two hours after Donnie Walsh traded Jamal Crawford to the Warriors for Al Harrington.

Both deals were made to clear salary cap space for the summer of 2010 for when LeBron James becomes a free agent. The contracts of Harrington, Thomas and Mobley all expire in two years which will put the Knicks in position to make a run at James, the most coveted free agent since Shaquille O'Neal left the Orlando Magic to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers.

sorry to see Jamal go but at least now we will probably stink for the rest of this season & end up w/a high lottery pick w/which we can take a young stud like Derozan who would look awesome in a Knicks' uniform, & now we're gonna be well under the cap in 2010 to sign a big name FA.

Donnie, my faith in you has been restored... thanks for following through w/your plan & showing all the naysayers that 2010 is worth going after.
