Posted by Finestrg: I view Chase Budinger as a true SF in the pro game and a perfect fit in D'Antoni's system. Budinger is a elite athlete who runs the floor extremely well, is a legit 6'8" and has possibly the purest outside shot (for a non-guard) in the NCAA. Budinger would be a very nice SF option for us. He would be great at spreading the floor but also has the ability to finish strong and quick to the basket if teams close out on him to quickly. Also an unselfish team player. |

Id throw up if we picked him. Another SF one that has 0 defensive abilities--soft by NBA standards.

Posted by BRIGGS: I agree. He may have a great offensive game (at the college level anyway) but we need some two way players now. Now, if we picked him up later in the first round and not as a lottery pick I'd be stoked cause he does look great offensively. Posted by BRIGGS:Posted by earthmansurfer:Posted by BRIGGS: Chase Budinger would essentially fill the role that Grant Hill did last year in Phoenix. Note that I'm not comparing Budinger to Grant Hill's career. I'm comparing last year's version of Grant Hill to Chase Budinger. Let's say the Knicks get the 16th pick this year. I would hardly be upset with the team drafting Budinger to facilitate the offense off the bench so Nate can do his thing and not worry about running the offense. Like it or not, Budinger does make sense with a mid round pick on this team with this coach. DLeethal wrote:

Posted by BRIGGS:Posted by SupremeCommander:Posted by BRIGGS:Posted by earthmansurfer:Posted by BRIGGS: Well, I'll agree with that. Obviously size, a lead guard, and a sharp shooter are more pressing needs. But I will say if the Knicks just eek into the playoffs and Budinger is available, they could actually use his services (assuming they keep this team together). DLeethal wrote:

Posted by BRIGGS:Posted by earthmansurfer:Posted by BRIGGS: i agree... we should be targetting players like Marcus the Truth... now there's a defensive stopper w/a consistent perimeter J. After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.
