Well' it looks like the D'Antoni system is working, just as I thought.

It's a great time to be a New Yorker! Coming off a Yankees and Mets winning season (yeah I know 'no playoffs' but better than losing)

Rangers in first
Jets in first
Giants in first
Knicks in second?

All I know is the Knicks are putting up numbers that people aren't accustomed to! And I may be right again about the hunch I had that maybe Isiah picked the right guys after all, but just couldn't lead them.

And does it make a huge' difference not having Destruction-bury around anymore? Damn right it does! Great move Mike!!

But don't get too confident guys. This rebuilding process is far from over. We still got work to do. But it still nice to be winning again.

Believe!
I'll never trust this' team again.

I'm just glad that the team finally has a solid direction and leadership. The players are being put in the right position to succeed and they're being taught how to play winning ball. They're doing everything that people said they couldn't do. Playing as a team, sharing the ball and even defending!!!

I felt that they weren't given a good environment to truly develop and improve. Now we have that and they're showing some pride and JOY for playing the game and with each other. In short they're a team now. Still we all know this isn't some great team, but for now it's just nice to see them playing with a plan. Right now from what i've seen they will be able to sustain this even as the competition improves. They may not win all of the tough games, but I think they'll be competitive.

We will have a real tough time with a team like the Lakers who have so much size and a great talent in Kobe. I don't think we can compete with them unless we can get some bigs to help balance things. We'll get killed inside by any team that has a dominant big, cuz we currently don't have anything inside.

I just hope we can get the wins we should get and if so we'll have a very good year.

And this is exactly what I wanted to see. Nothing more. It's a great platform to build on and short of getting too co-ky, if they can keep this up (and I have confidence that they can indeed) then this team is going to be looking very attractive to guys like Lebron in a few years.

this exceeds what i was hoping for but i agree w/u 100%... i don't think we need to make any dumb trades right now just cuz this team's starting to play good team basketball... or haven't we learned anything from that ill-fated KVH for Tim Fugazy Thomas trade? just let these guys keep learning this system & look to free up some cap if a trade comes along that allows u to do... no more longterm contracts for anything short of a franchise calibre talent, please!!!

The most noticable difference is the sharing of the rock, and guy's knowing their role, there hitting 3s at a record pace and JC, Nate, and ZBO have been better then advertise.

JC has a much better focus, and nate is more in control. I knew from Day 1 that our defense would be base on steals and deflections. Were not big and we dont have any defensive stoppers, but Chris is a smart player ( a lot smarter then I thought) and nate has taken Mike's notion ( that he should avg 3 steals) to heart.

I still believe steph wouldn't have been a problem because I saw his efforts to stay within the team concept during preseason.

ROSE makes me cringe because he does things he shouldn't, thinks he's smarter then he really is (not that savvy at all), thinks he has more range then he has, more athletisism then he does, and the pull the chair thing hasn't work since KT was here. IMO good locker room presence thats it, I also relize when Jeff gets healthy rose won't see the light of day.

MDA's system is geared to these players because most of them are offensive-minded. The problem last year is IT could never get the offense to click and this team had no defense to fall back on. Now the offense is clicking and they are playing just enough good defense to get the W. It is amazing how much better guys can perform when they are in a system suited to their strengths.
