Remember the sluggish starts from last season? The scoring droughts? Being near the bottom of the league in assists?

If there is any single player responsible for changing the tempo and trust from the get-go it is the subtle, but steady, Duhon.

It is no accident that Jamal Crawford is taking better shots and shooting a high percentage. The idea of Dee-fense being played in the backcourt, and even having Little Nate get in on the action with some timely steals is no accident. Having a player at the point with an ego the size of an aspirin is a beautiful thing.

Have we seen the best of Chris Duhon?

He really does look like a combination of Childs and Ward.

Duhon has been great. He has truly led this team like we haven't been lead in a while. The more I watch him the more he reminds me of how the PG position is supposed to be played. It's been a while since we've seen it. It also makes me think, somebody should have made Stephon Marbury a SG from the first day he came into the league.

Somebody should have really mentored Stephon. It is ashame what has happened to him. His basketball skills are off the charts but his social skills is non-existent.

2-8

The beauty of Duhon is that he does not need to score to be effective. He rebounds and always brings the asisst-man mentality to the game.

Best part? Thanks to his humble Slidell LA roots and college pedigree, the young man has the mindset of a winner.

I like the look of 6-3

Duhon is better than Ward IMO. Ward never sniffed the lane. Duhon gets better every game. Tonight he was penetrating and setting up easy baskets. I think its 5 straight games of at least 7 assists. As he continues to get more comfortable I think he's gonna start averaging about 8-9 assists per game.

I'm happy with Duhon. He's not John Stockton, but he's the kind of pass first point guard we need. Also, he plays good defense and hits the open 3. I think he's the best mle signing we've had since Kurt Thomas.

I think people wanted to mentor him, his ego just wouldn't listen

The thing with duhon and this system is guys KNOW they are going to get the ball. Crawford is setting up for shots instead of hawking the ball, guys are moving to the hoop. When you know your PG is looking to get you shots, it changes the way you play the game....
Anyone who sits around and waits for the lottery to better themselves, either in real life or in sports, Is a Loser............... TKF

The Beneficiary

tkf - as you point (guard) out, Jamal Crawford finally has a running buddy he can groove with. Jamal's game can make nit-pickers crazy, but the young man is getting better shots off for a reason. There is a consistent flow and rhythm that comes with Duhon, that a rhythm player like Crawford thrives on.

Party on
