i'm watching the suns/grizzlies on the free nba broadband preview and OJ is cooking. OJ has 11pts in a row for the Grizzlies to bring them back to within 4 pts.... make that 13 pts in a row.

this is after he had 20 pts in a quarter against Denver last night and 31pts 9ast and 7reb for the game. he's looking like an all-star at the very least. memphis in general is looking pretty good this season so far. warrick, gay, mayo, lowry, gasol... pretty nice team.

sigh. really wish we coulda drafted this kid.

I'll wait and see. He could still be a flash in the pan. And he's still turnover prone.
I'll never trust this' team again.

looks like he might've run out of gas, but he's got 27pts for the game and had 31pts last night. dang.

flash in the pan? no. hardly. i'd say he's an all-star level talent right now and the only question will be whether he can focus on making his teammates better and learning when to pick his spots in taking over games and become a real deal superstar.

also the PHX announcer keeps calling Warrick "WarWick" and it's really annoying.

whoa, Mayo with a great move over Shaq, next time down the court finds a cutting Gasol. gasol is at the line to tie the game. 29pts for Mayo.

We play him Thursday. We have one of the elite turn over squads and Dr. flash will turn into Mr. turnover when we're done with him.
I'll never trust this' team again.

You missed the point. And I didn't know you were such a Memphis fan. Wrong board, don't you think?

i got your point. i'm just not sure i agree with it. i wouldn't call our defense good enough to be considered elite at anything.

i am a knicks fan first and foremost, but i like watching basketball. im just impressed mayo looks so good so early, because i was not impressed by him in college at all. his game is very much suited for the nba though. he could be a wade-like player. he needs to learn to get Gay involved more though. and the Grizz got robbed by some terrible officiating down the stretch as Quinton Ross was thrown to the floor by Amare while he had the ball and they called it out of bounds on Ross...

anyway, call it advance scouting for the Memphis game... i think that will be a tough game for our squad.

cat is going to be a star...wanted him from day one out of anybody in the draft. Absolutely pathetic that we didnt pull out all the stops to get him.

You didn't get my point. The Knicks as a team are playing the steals game at a much higher rate and with a guy like Mayo, they could as a unit, have there way with him. We don't have any one person who can guard anyone dominantly, but we do have a team that can cause havoc for other guards, etc.

Personally, I don't trust Mayo. He'll fall on his face soon enough. But your entitled to your opinion, despite my opinion of your opinion.
I'll never trust this' team again.

I think he is an all star level talent. Mayo was on the scene at such an early age that every aspect of his game was over analyzed.

it's too bad we couldn't get that trade done on draft night... this kid's really good.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

yeah, i got your point - i just don't agree with it. what high level guard have we shut down so far? wizards were missing arenas, jazz were missing deron. we've been getting some steals, i don't think it's quite time to act like we have a high pressure defensive unit on the perimeter or anything.

mayo is already better than any guard we've played outside of wade.

He's good....right now he's moving too fast in my opinion....its gonna be trouble once he figures out the pace of the nba game. He's just a really good player and fun to watch.

yeah he's definitely learning the speed and how to pick his spots. he's gotta learn to work with rudy gay more though. but his two man game with gasol is already pretty impressive.

he's got 28pts, 31pts and 33pts 3 of his last 4 games though.

Yes, Mayo is the real deal. It's the reason why many of us were rooting for losses towards the end of last year. We were trying to get a shot at this guy. And if we didn't go on that 3-game winning streak with 4 or so games left in the season, we might have had the #3 pick in the NBA Draft. But that's how it works out. Let's all pray and hope Gallinari is going to have a healthy and great career. That's the best we can hope for.

As for Mayo, the sky is the limit for this dude. He is amazing.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.
