Assuming this is what the Knicks are looking for, what choices do we have? Some thoughts:

Stephen Jackson is the gem of the remaining class; he's tall, can hit the 3, and basically do a little of everything. He was a big part of San Antonio's title this past season. He's looking for more than the minimum...

Raja Bell looked like a star in the making in Philly's road the finals 3 years ago, but hasn't found a good fit since (buried in Dallas's deep rotation). Nice defensive specialist w/ some offensive skills... could be the 2nd coming of Bruce Bowen.

DerMarr Johnson is the popular name here--- some people still believe he has T-Mac physical talent, but just hasn't put it all together. He's still very young, and who's to say that the lost year from his broken neck won't slow him down forever (or not).

Lenny Cooke was supposed to be the LeBron James of his class... that is until James schooled him. Since then, he's been going down a downward spiral. He showed some flashes of brilliance in the summer leagues... and seems to be getting some consideration from a couple of teams. That said... do we really want someone this raw on the team? (he makes DJ seem like a seasoned veteran!)

with Van Horn,Mycdess,Sweetney, Lampe, Anderson, and Weatherspoon playing the SF and PF, I dont think jackson is needed. We already have Houston at the SG so i dont think we have enough minutes to give to jackson at the SF. Im not saying he isnt good or cant contribute but there simply isnt enough minutes for his skills.

Yea, Tyronne Nesby has always put up decent numbers in NBA, as far as i can recall. He was also the second best player in our first summer league. I say we take this guy if he already isnt off the board. I would take him over any of those players mentioned in the first post.

nesby is a trouble maker. the clippers kicked him off the team, shipped him to the wiz for free - and the wiz dropped him after that.

his game isn't that impressive. i'd rather have postell instead.

i think right now we're fine at the swingman (SG) spot.

we've got players that can play multiple positions:

Ward, Williams and Eisley at the PG spot. Williams has the size to play SG in a crunch and Eisley has played SG before.

At SG, we have Houston (rehab) and Anderson.

SF we've got Van Horn, Lampe, Weatherspoon, Anderson.

PF we've got Sweetney, Spoon, Travis Knight, Lampe. Dyess and Harrington are injured.

Center we've got KT, Lampe, Doleac, Vranes.

I'd really like to see Sweetney, Lampe and Vranes force-fed some minutes this season and learn the NBA game

Case im with u on this one! I want to see our young guys play! If we cant get something impressive via trade, id go with those!
Talking about trades, i think we got more important things to care about than sg! We still could use a true force down low!!!
But i dont think there will be any real good players we can have for our trade assets!

Jackson turned down a 3 yr-10mil offer from spurs. dumb.

He benefited from how many open uncontested looks because of Duncan?

I am with Dodger and Case on this one...I wouldnt really go after a SG - and I would be more interested in seeing a trade evolve out of what we have.

Overseas is calling him, for the kind of money he's lookin for.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.
