Last time the Knicks were 2 games over .500 was in 2005.......

Is this just a result of beating teams worse that the Knicks? Or can we hold our heads high with pride again?

Knicks beat Miami with Wade and Beasley(narrowly)....they beat Charlotte with J-rich, Gerald, Felton and Oka4.........they beat washington with Caron, Jaimison and the youth......now handing a 5-0 Utah team its first loss.

Its all good in the hood.

exactly. we can't keep giving word service to changing our "culture" without acknoledging that the key element of what was wrong with our culture was losing.

winning is good. goooood. gooo-oooo-ooood.

Most people, while trying to find a negative in everything the Knicks do, always point out a flaw on the other team to justify our wins. I think that this record is legitimate and speaks for the Knicks players really doing their best to buy into the new system. Either good or bad competition, injuries or slow starts, the Knicks are no contenders and by no means a finished product. Two of our most talented players are in street clothes, and while it is the coach's call, it is significant. The guys out there may not be so talented but have worked hard in doing everything the coach wants. Sometimes it looks horrible because thats the nature of this system with the current players, no matter how good or bad is the opposition. In other games we'll look good enough to win, and thats something fans should appreciate because given the situation we might not win many games this season.
Congrats to the Knicks for this strong start. It speaks greatly of the players out there, that overcome their deficiencies and lack of great talent with great effort and resiliency.

Not two of our most talented players but oyr 2 worst players.
Plus coaching is better that no-coaching.
Every player in NBA can play bbal but you need somebody to put them into position to win.

They may be the worst players but it isn't because of talent, of which they have. Marbury is the best talent we have right now, no arguing because its TALENT. But as a player, as a team player he is the worst. Curry has also the talent to be a monster player, but lacks motivation and focus, so he becomes another bad player. If both players had the right attitude and mind, they would be leading the way. But of course, at this point, thats never gonna happen. We sit well with them gone...

one of my pet peeves with the knicks of recent years was getting complacent and full of themselves after a win or two. i think we haven't been on a winning streak longer than 3 games since that Jan of the Larry Brown year. this three game win streak isn't a big deal, but i was still thrilled to see us hanging with a good team -- running, hitting the boards with a fury, rotating hard on D, sharing the ball, and basically working their asses off to keep winning. i'm definitely not sold on this team staying above .500 all year, but i think the team's play so far shows we're starting to move in the right direction.

i remember the posters here saying we'd finally turned the corner when we hit that stretch of wins a couple years ago & things were gonna be different... this time around i can understand the enthusiasm over the new coach's system & all but to we gotta be real here, the players are still pretty much the same guys who have posted two 20 win seasons out of the last 3, so i hope u guys don't think this is gonna be a year long trend... they're gonna start losing games again & u guys are gonna start calling for this team to be blown up once again, it's just a matter of time.

if you mean me, i'm with you to an extent. we'll definitely lose our share of games. but i really liked seeing the effort today, am probably overreacting but i'm hoping our problems are a matter of personnel not team culture anymore.

And this actually means that we should keep 7 players currently in rotation for a long time.
If we will start shifting the deck again and try to pull another Ace from the sleeve we will be bad over and over again.
Time to stop and start working. And I hope this what Mike and Walsh are going to do.

What we've seen so far is a good sign. But every team can have a good run. I like what I've seen, but I want to see more.

I couldn't agree with you any more.

We're just one 3 game losing skid away from the next "Screw the Knicks" thread being created.

All i'll say is that i'm patting myself on the back with every win and good performance, cuz I felt that coaching and lineup choices were killing this team for the last 3 years. I've been dying to see what these guys would do under solid direction and leadership and so far I like what i'm seeing. We can get better too!

lol... dude if u wanna pat urself on the back after a 4-2 stretch u better be ready to take it when the crap comes down on you after they finish w/a sub .500 record this season.

btw, u were one of those "we've turned the corner" posters i was referring to in my other post.

I stand by my feelings then as I do now! I never gave up in my belief that our players could play this way. I was saying the same things then that I'm saying now. I expected better coaching but we didn't get it. So now that we are getting great coaching the team has looked much better. Not to say this team is gonna be great, but that was never my point. We wanted to see progress and some return on potential and that is starting to happen now.

u've been saying the same things for the past couple years... u waited all this time to pat urself on the back after the first 6 game stretch of the season where they're actually playing some good basketball? how about u wait at least a couple months before u start talking about how they've turned the corner this time instead of a 5-6 game stretch?
