An established star in a combination trade and no Al Harrington is not even close to being an NBA star--I would say Gerald Wallace is minimum level star talent--his level or higher. I would not do BOTH curry and Lee for Harrington one or the other

A highly touted rookie--like a Jerryd Bayless who cant get run on a team with 8 guards or perhaps a Deandre Jordan from the Clippers for Lee.

A first round pick that wont be 30--i.e if the Spurs want Curry I would be willing to do a deal where their number 1 comes back to us with only very limited protection.

I want cap space but I think it's being over-emphasized and we have no idea how low the cap can actually go with a huge economic turn down. I think the team could be too good to worry about 2 years from now especially if we can get another star player.

I DO NOT want to overpay for a marginal player like Harrington especially with GS in a hole with him like this.

Also would be willing to buyout Marbury in a deal with the Spurs[or other club that I feel might yield a better than anticipated pick] if they want him and Curry to make a deal happen for a 2009 #1 restricted to 3

We have to nice assets to help this team now and long term and we should be aggressive getting it done.

I wouldn't do both Lee and Curry for Harrington either, but to think you're going to get a real star for them, especially considering that Curry's contract probably runs past 2010, is nuts. You can get Lee for a nice young player, and you can get Curry for a guy like Al Harrington. That's why I like Curry and Lee for Harrington and Randolph.

But chances of us getting someone in the Josh Smith mold, for them, are nil and none.

If Gerald is involved, then your taking on a huge contract. It's five years more and he'll be owed 11 million plus in his last year.

Why not just keep Curry for now, until another year is off his contract, and then maybe someone will be willing to taking him next year, in a better deal. Options don't count just as now, but for the future also.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Lee is not good enough to say "this is our starting Power Forward" and if we wish to sign a FA in 2010, paying 8-10 million dollars for a bench player is not the way to go. Hopefully we use him to get rid of Jeffries and get a pick/young talent.

The year that counts most is 2010 and Curry makes over a million more than Wallace. Wallace is a very good player who does many things well. He's worth the contract he has. Trading Curry for Wallace won't help us much with the 2010 cap, but it won't hurt is with that cap and will give us a multi-skilled, motivated player for a one dimensional ______ .

If one of you does Lee or Curry individually, or does both of them at the same time, make sure nobody is filming. That kind of stuff can haunt you in this day and age.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

You should be very huge or have very huge to do them both at the same time.
As Allanfan sad the chances of doing this "are nil and none".

By the way - why people think that Lee will get huge contract?
If somebody will give him this, we will not much and he is off the books. Why bother now?

"If Im going to trade Lee or Curry this is what I want"

Just out of curiosity, who replaces Lee? The more I think about it, the more obvious this becomes:

Lee isn't going anywhere.....for now. Maybe after Jeffries gets back and if he turns into what MDA thinks he has in him.

Curry is injured and there is no timetable on his return. This is another guy with his bad contract that isn't going anywhere....for now.

Whoever the Knicks pay for the physical development of their body should have his/her job on the line with Curry. Get Curry into shape even if that means putting him on a salad diet. It will take pressure of of his knee get him out on the floor faster and with the reduced weight help his game. If Curry does not except a reasonable diet program--simply stop paying him.

You know that this doesn't work this way in NBA. This is not NFL... unfortunately. If booms like Eddy, Jerome, etc. will hang on 1 year contract they will be out of NBA long time back or will be in shape.
Plus remember that Eddy’s heart was not taking REAL workouts good enough. Some people cannot make it, they can drop dead. Our body is sometimes better understands how to survive.
I wish Eddy good long live and if bbal is in the way of this - take you money Eddy, go home and enjoy.
