It seems like we haven't had our own second round pick in years. Maybe even since we drafted Ariza.

No we don't. It belongs to the Bulls courtesy of the Curry trade.

didn't we get a 2nd round pick in the Balkman trade? (not that we couldn't have simply bought one for cash at any time)

You realize Balkman is a scrub and is only worth a 2nd round pick, right? Him riding the bench of the Nuggets should tell you that.

i realize we could simply buy a 2nd round pick for cash any year we want to... to trade him for a 2nd rounder we won't be able to use for another 2 years is pretty nonsensical if u ask me... Anthony Roberson? gimme a break, that kinda player we coulda picked up on a 10-day contract at any time during the season.
