Both would be stupid to opt out but if the Knicks keep Curry on the bench for 82 games it could force his hand. Marbury is a hard ass so he will sit and just enjoy the camera. Curry on the other hand is an emotional dude and not as hard. He may flip and beg to be outta here....by opting out he's free to fly like an eagle. Some team will pick him up.

Like D'antoni said its not their fault.....this is about the Knicks.

As far as Crawford. I'm rooting for him but he's proving he still cant tell when to shoot....I think he will pick it up in a month or so but I don't think the Knicks should waste that time anymore....

I posted a thread about fixing the Knicks that everyone ignored http://www.ultimateknicks.com/forum/topic.asp?t=28739

The trade probablt gives the Cavs a championship and possibly keeps Lebron in Clevland....I'm like so what? the deal chops off Zach and Craw in one clean swoop. Next season The Knicks will have that money plus Malik, Marb and possibly Curry off the books. Its mucho delicioso.....

It sets up the draft cuz the Knicks will lose games like there is no tomorrow. It guarentees the Knicks to get Mullens, Brandon Jennings, Rubio, Griffin, or whoever......plus I can see Clevland giving up thier pick in that trade. Knicks could trade up with that pick also.

I think the time is now to just fire sale and truly think of the future. Knicks could get buy with this roster:

Wilson/Malik
Gallo/Wally
Jared/Jerome
Duhon/Nate
Q/Collins

I think that team would play hard.....no distractions on the team....just basketball and a massive hard-on for us true fans that can see the future.

With this complete plan? Marbs, Curry, Wall, Snow, Lorenzen, Malik all come off the books at the end of this season. Its so crazy that the Knicks could probably get a free agent in the 2009 season AND in 2010, plus have a top draft pick in the 2009 draft.

Yo! are you with me UK....I'm seriously about to E-mail the garden....if someone here has access run this situation by the powers that be. Go Knicks

If this goes down the Knicks could sign Iverson, Sheed, Artest, Kobe if he opts out, or Marion in 2009 if they want.....not for max money...these guys are older so they can expect to sign for almost half of what they were making before.

Add 3 draft picks from my deals.

2010 the knicks could get damn near half the league cuz it seems like everyone is a free agent.....all of the Knicks contracts will be off the books just about. Knicks could literally sign and draft a 8 man rotation by 2010 if my ideas go through.

I'm a ****ing genius!!!

Kobe will sign for 100 mils in Italy like alternative to the Knicks. And the others mentioned will follow.
Seriously how you can know what will go on in NBA in 2 years if nobody knows what will happened tomorrow (Iverson trade).

Best thing for the knicks would be for the Cavs to win and he can leave and at least say "I came to bring a championship to ohio!" Mission acomplished! He won't be as hated if he leaves.

What's to talk about, Eny?

Curry is a mess and is due 10M per year. He would never opt out for he is never going to improve his game enough to EVER get more than even an MLE consideration from any team at this point.

Jamal: Probably bought into the media frenzy that under Mike D's "Chuck it like you don't care" offense (which isn't true but perceived) that he would not only have a career year but a superstar year, so, he'd opt out looking for a brand new 5 or 6 year deal making 10M in the starting year at the very least.

So, I give it 50/50. Jamal might get it going and if he does he WILL opt out and we should all count our blessings as long as we LET HIM WALK! No S&T, No matching, NO! ... Curry, as mentioned, has no shot to ever make another 21M over 2 years so he will of course pick up his option and we'll be stuck with him....or we'll trade him for garbage like a Darko and then watch that guy suck.

We're better off trading Crawford and getting a pick than letting him go for nothing.

crawford so far:

1: 39 min, 9-19 47 fg%, 4-10 40 3fg%, 7-10 70 ft%, 4 reb, 4 ast, 1 to, 1 stl. 29 pts
2: 30 min, 5-12 42 fg%, 2-6 33 3fg%, 2-2 100 ft%, 1 reb, 1 ast, 1 to, 1 stl, 14 pts
3: 32 min, 0-6 0 fg%, 0-3 0 3fg%, 1-1 100 ft%, 0 reb, 4 ast, 1 to, 0 stl, 1 pt
4: 34 min, 5-11 46 fg%, 4-7 57 3fg%, 2-3 66 ft%, 0 reb, 5 ast, 3 to, 1 stl, 16 pts

at this rate, he can't afford to opt out unless the knicks are stupid enough to give him a 3-4 year extension...
