Is Billups definitely playing tonight? I thought I heard somewhere he might not be available for tonights game

Denver native Chauncey Billups, acquired by the Nuggets on Monday from the Detroit Pistons, is not expected to play Wednesday night at Golden State.

Rex Chapman, the Nuggets' vice president of player personnel, said there isn't enough time for Billups to get to Oakland for the game. Billups had traveled with the Pistons to Charlotte, N.C., for their game with the Bobcats on Monday night, but after the trade was announced, the George Washington High and University of Colorado product had to return home to Detroit.

In the deal, which generated a buzz nationwide, the Nuggets traded guard Allen Iverson to the Pistons for Billups, Antonio McDyess and Cheikh Samb.

Like Billups, Samb, a a 7-foot-1 center, is not expected to be available Wednesday. Both are expected to be in Denver to practice Thursday and to be available Friday night when the Nuggets play host to the Dallas Mavericks.
