nothing apparently...
"The New York Knicks have no plans to do anything with Stephon Marbury, except pay him his $21.9 million salary and give him a great seat to watch all their games.

Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni and team president Donnie Walsh said that they will not waive, buy out or trade Marbury. They also will not let him play in games, unless there is an injury to their top three guards, Chris Duhon, Jamal Crawford or Nate Robinson.

After Walsh met with both D'Antoni and Marbury on Monday, the Knicks announced Tuesday that they feel the issue is dead. Marbury will be inactive until further notice.

"It is resolved," D'Antoni told a larger than usual contingent of reporters after practice on Tuesday. "It is. Pretty soon that story is not going to be fun to read because it is going to be the same old story.

"You are going to be beating a dead horse," he said

yup, its official. This is what they are doing and thats it. Beautiful.

I wonder if one of our "top 3 guards" plays poorly if Steph can take over.. or only injuries

How the F is that resolved? This is just stupid. Send him home at least. This will not be resolved. This stupid ass story will be a headline every single damn day for the rest of the season.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Mike D'Antoni seems to think the New York Media and fan base won't beat a dead horse.

He does not understand New York City.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

That is just f'in stupid. If D'antoni thinks this is going away just cause he says it is, he has got another thing coming. I can see the Post coming up with a count of every day that Marbury is in this purgatory. A Free Marbury campaign.
This is already a debacle.

God, don't they realize that people will start feeling sorry for Mebury and the chants will only get louder? Why the hell couldn't you send out Marbury with Isiah and call it a day? Why make him become some sort of martyr and have the fans on his side by the end of his run here? He doesn't deserve that and never did.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Masterplan, I don't care about what the press says in any way. However, D'Antoni's naivete is amusing.

So who is starting the official dead horse thread?

Clearly these guys have very little understand of New York and the Press...I hope they don't think this gets them off the hook...My call is that MDA caves first to Garden boos and pressure or Walsh has a trade in the works...

Imagine Marbury comes out smelling like roses in all this...Funny stuff..

Walsh = McCain...Time to retire him...

What the hell is Walsh doing. It doesn't seem like a great management move at all. He has the power to end the circus like atmosphere in msg but he doesn't. This is already starting to go bad. I don't necessarily think that I can trust Walsh or D'antoni right now.

what hand is he forcing? This is whats going to happen:

all will be quiet for a while. But the Knicks will continue to lose, after a terrible loss.. Marbury will be quoted as saying something along the lines of:

"If it was working without me, I'd understand. But it aint, I feel like I can help, so its frustrating. Guess you can't keep blaming me now"

and it will escilate from there

I'm thinking only a combo of Isiah and Layden can restore dignity to this basketball icon that we call the Knicks.

From Mike D'Antoni after practice today:

"It’s one thing I just want to be really clear about something and I hope we’re clear that there will never be a rift between Donnie and I. Ya’ll can try and you can try to go to one and then the other. We’ll talk everyday. Now, I’m sure he’s not going to agree on everything I’m doing. We’ll talk everything out. I’ll convince him some, he’ll convince me some. But that other thing will never happen.

"We’re on the same page, we’ll always be on the same page and I’m not going to look for any excuse. If we lose, we lose. But there’s no distractions, there’s no problems. What will happen in the future with the team, who plays who doesn’t play, I’ll come out with it because I’ve got to make that final decision. Everything will be talked over and we’ll try to do the best we can. I’m not saying all decisions will be right, but I do know that it will me made in what’s best for the Knicks and we’re going to go forward. But I’m energized and full of vigor and we’ll go from there. That’ll never happen, so don’t waste your ink.”

A follow up of "Are you guys on the same page with how to deal with Steph":

"Yes, we are."
