Well, Denver did make their backcourt defense stronger, no doubt. But yes, they robbed Peter to pay Paul by ridding themselves of a shot blocker and adding a big & strong defender in Chauncey.

Aside from the financial and contractual details of this transaction, this trade helps both teams. Dumars said he wanted a shake up, and he kept his word. Although they got rid of Camby, someone like Billups will definitely help. He's battle tested and always seems to make the right decision near crunch time, as opposed to Iverson who can force the issue a times. Detroit gets acquired the true scorer that it will need to compete with Boston in the postseason. Although guys like Rasheed and Hamilton can put up points in a hurry, there nowhere near AI's plateau when it comes to scoring.
