"it's like we were on our heels the whole game"

Why does he keep saying this after every loss. What the heck does this mean anyway?

Maybe he's coaching the wrong team.

It means the Knicks are not aggressive. They let the other team set the tone for the game and when the Knicks are pressured they revert to the one on one game.

Someone needs to put a pole on the Knicks logo.

I'm not worried at all, Eddy Curry should be healthy soon.

This is what the Knicks did all last year. Why would it change the team is basically the same but a different coach. The players are the sameones that give up when the going gets tough. Yeah, you can say that phrase will be repeated quite a bit by D'Antoni.

If the team can't bring the effort in the second home game of the season I don't think they are gonna ever bring the effort night in and night out.

I can take giving the effort and losing, I mean heck, they won't match up with most of the teams in the NBA, it's the lack of effort I can't watch. Maybe, just maybe, they'll bring it tonight, but it's starting to look like team titanic 08/09

This quitting is a habit. It's a habit that was developed by years and years of consistent losing. It is a habit nurtured by the LB year when we took their side when they quit on the coach. It's a habit that is ingrained in their psyche. They do not know how to change it. A coach alone can't change it. They need a player/leader to galvanize them. Beleive it or not, losing is a habit. And it's one of the toughest habits to break.

When successful people in life have a problem, what do they do? They work harder to get past their hardship. People that are down on their luck oftne times need a role model to show them how to get out of the mess. They don't know how to get out themselves. That's usually why they are there in the first place, because they make the wrong choices. Our team is no different. They don't know how to respond to adversity, because very few on this team have done it successfully. They know no other way, but to give up.

its not just quitting when we get down, its the way we START GAMES which begins with our PREGAME preperation.... I wish i had some good video of their pregame warmups its always such a disasterous blend of joking, laughing, high fiving celebrities, trick shots and airballs. Watch the Spurs warm up some day, or the Knicks of the 90s. You have to take it seriously the second you step on the garden floor

It is really about the mojo. Since when has Knicks played with some serious mojo and putting a fight of a game every game in the season? Wow it must be ages ago already. That is the problem there. Too many losing years make a team losers. Good thing we have Mike D'antoni coaching, he is mojo himself.

Let the loser purging begin!

Knicks are happening and have a Unicorn.

You are right. That's included in it too. But again, we haven't had professional vets since the Allan HOuston, Charlie Ward, Kurt Thomas days. Our young guys don't have "role models" to show them the proper way to prepare.
