There's a chance Marbury could be in uniform tonight because Zach Randolph Zach Randolph and Eddy Curry missed practice with knee soreness. But D'Antoni said he thinks they will suit up.

Just wondering if Zach's body can handle this running, his knee is already hurting. Is this why he had the terrible last game shooting performance?
"I'd like to get into it and find out as soon as possible," Walsh said before leaving with D'Antoni. "It's not fair to anybody really. [We have] to find out where can this go, and then we can make a decision."

If Marbury is put on waivers soon after tonight's Garden match vs. Milwaukee, he would clear in two days and then be able to sign with another team for the veteran's minimum of $1.2 million.

Denver and Miami, two sources said, have interest. The new salary Marbury signs for would be deducted from the money they owe him: $21.9 million.

Perhaps Ewing Jr will be back on the team as Marbury may be released...
Never a dull moment in Knicks land.

No one knows how Zach's microfracture-repaired knee will hold up over the long-term in this or any system.

Walsh's failure to trade him may just come back to bite him.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

I don't think Zach is any where near medical retirement or missing lots of games due to his knee. He is a big guy yeah, but he doesn't pound his knees with athleticism (e.g. Amare) nor depend on it. It's just early in the season and he trains hard off season too. Not a big concern... yet anyway.

On a nice note, if Marbury is released we will sign Ewing Jr. almost guaranteed imo. Imagine that, having a defensive presence. Even for spot minutes he can change the game a bit like Balkman had, but with a head on his shoulders.

Just playing 35 mpg at the NBA level is a huge pounding on your knees and your long-term ability to do that depends on athleticism. I hear people do say your comment very often but I think they're viewing the issue way too much in black and white terms. You can depend on athleticism without being like Amare. Every NBA player depends on athleticism. Also, everyone's body is different. 40 inch vertical jumps may put the same amount of stress on Amare's knee that just running up and down the court for 35 mpg puts on the knee of a heavier guy like Zach. Clearly, they both got to the point where they needed a last resort surgery.

It is perfectly clear that veterans like Zack, Eddy, Steph, Q, Jeffries, Malik are not good for D'Antony system. His system needs fresh durable players on light side for all positions. And we mostly have heavy slow broken down or injury prone group.
I will not be surprised if from all players we have only Lee, Rob, Chan, and Craf will be around and playing in 2-3 month. NY doctors will have a lot of work on their hands.

Too much combustion already. If Zach is hurt then and they wont play Curry we will be a high lottery pick and might as well start Gallinari. Are we going to go with David Lee and Malik Rose as the starting frontline?

Ewing Jr coming back to the Knicks is far from guaranteed.

Perhaps, but having an open spot after Marbury leaves and we would also get back what the signing team pays (1.1 Mill?) so we could use that for Ewing Jr. (Essentially free) After all that management has said, it would be hard not to.

1. You wouldn't get back what the signing team pays.
2. Ewing Sr. and Jr's agent want him to go somewhere where he'll actually play and improve which is why he didn't sign with Charlotte.

Yeah... and if we could turn those scrubs into Paul, Kobe, Lebron, Bosh and Stoudamire we'd be in real good shape. We mgith give the celtics a run for their money. Hell, we might win a gold medal. But, I don't beleive either scenario is plausible for the Knicks.
