from the dominos falling.
It's pretty clear that teams see that we are trying to get under the cap so they are offering us S*H*T for our players. But, what is going to happen when the value of either Curry or Zach (and to a lesser extent Crawford as he is probably going to flourish) goes up some AND we get rid of preferably one of the first two? Well then, we are in a position of power and not weakness like we have been the last few years. There is a lot of posting going on about how to get under the cap and how by not doing it now it's hurting our chances. I disagree. We are seeing the value of Zach go up to the point where we are going to start to get calls on him before it gets too high. One big contract removed from this team gets us on at least equal footing in our other trades, cause we ain't so desperate anymore. Remember we had no talent or salary cap space, so we took chances on players others didn't want. A team full of them is a recipe for disaster (as we found out), but in the proper environment, one of them on a relatively successful team can be ok.
Don't think "the grass is always greener" comes to play here. Zach is a 20 and 10 guy and quite a few teams could use him, though might not have the money. If he continues to be a good citizen and put up good numbers there will be takers and we will actually GET SOMETHING BACK AND NOT JUST GIVE! Guys, this is a position of power. Can you imagine how much worse we'd be without Zach in the middle? Well, at least Curry might increase his trade value.
Curry - Right now I'm with all of you, he is just a waste, but let's give it some time. A few weeks from now lets see if a fire is lit under his AS*.
We are stuck with Big Snacks and probably Marbury. But Big Snacks might be used in a trade for a "free agent" with a nice player (ie. Lee) so that the other team at least gets something back. E.g. Do you want to lose Lebron, Bosh, etc. for nothing or at least get Lee and a draft pick back and a year of James? I mean there is a chance.
Not saying it's all gonna happen, and there has been more optimism lately, but still see some light on the horizon. At least we have somebody steering the ship now.
Don't forget, we are in
New York and
D'Antoni and
Walsh are now running the show, that will ATTRACT PLAYERS.
Endorsement money galore and playing in
The Greatest Arena in The Greatest City, though it's been a long time, but... don't forget. Oh, and we have some players who stars would love to play next to, Like Lee. An up and coming Chandler and Nate. Patience Grasshopper, patience. A message is being sent to the rest of the NBA as we post

, there is a new Sheriff in town.
