Nice going Knick fans!!! Great, now some fans are encouraging the ****'n media to turn D'Antoni's stint into another soap opera, another media cirucs!

I don't blame D'Antoni for calling them a bunch of holes and shouting out that he 'doesn't ****'n believe it'!

That's all we need. The very last thing we need is for people to start encouraging Stephon Marbury to have the backing to start his **** again.

Some fans are just stupid, stupid, stupid! They just don't get it. If any of you see these fans, jump on their ass and tell them to STFU!!!

We don't need this crap anymore. I don't blame Mike at all!

I like it.
Finally we have some real peple in Knicks organization.
And fans... come on... Who cares about fans at MSG anyway?

Mike handled it poorly. He was inconsiderate regarding Marbury's place in New York. Now he'll have to deal with the consequences of his choices.

As long as the Knicks can string together a few wins here at the start of the season, all will be forgiven.
Let it be known: I believe in the Knicks this year-- deep into the playoffs, I swear to you my brothers...

I get the same impression. Just check his sound bites during interviews. He gives the flame right back and shuts down those douche bag reporters. Like when the decision was announced about Junior....they called Roberson a 15th man and he spazzes at one of the guys saying that he's assuming that Roberson is the 15th man and he could be his 10 or 11th guy.....i love that.

When the garden crowd was chanting "we want steph" I was like "Are you kidding me!"......I'm sure all of us real fans said the same. "We want steph"? how bout we want to win? Knicks won...thats more important.

You know I wanna say again cuz i've said it before.....the ny crowed is NOT the most knowledable any more.....maybe in the 90's and earlier but now? nobody knows what they are looking at anymore. "we want steph"? in game one of the season? maybe if Steph didnt play for the first 15 games and lost like 8 of those then yeah.....the Knicks won.

I think there are different kinds of fans in NY. The ones chanting for Marbury probably feel he is the most talented player and don't see how team skills can translate to wins, and perhaps want to see him because he is a local legend.

Of course, had we kept Pat Jr., they would have instead undoubtedly chanted his name.

And of course, D'Antoni wouldn't have had to say 'What the Fuck!'

You PLAY To Win The Game

TRU - what exactly is Marbury's "place" in New York?

"Consquences of his choice?" You mean like the Knicks cohering enough to have 26 team assists or winning opening night at home?

It has been noted that it was exactly 5 games into last season that Marbury went AWOL in Phoenix.

I bet the drama ON the court, other than the artificial drama stirred by the press drama queens, is cut off at the legs this season.

I'm cool with that

While I think Mardy Collins is the worst active non-rookie in the NBA - let's see how many of those idiot fans are still even in the Garden chanting ANYTHING in a few months.

It was a horrible opening night crowd. I was embarrassed to be a real fan.

Mardy is not above average at anything. He is OK on D but thats it - maybe he can make me a believer this season but I doubt it

My point is - Steph is a much more talented player and if he wasnt such a headcase he'd be taking all of those minutes away from Mardy, but I'll never chant for him.

Steph lost his place at the exclusive New York dining table long ago. He's was welcomed back to NY with open arms and had a place set up at the table along side other NY BB legends. He should have been able dine with Bernard, Patrick, Oak, Starks, etc....but he blew it.

Started with having a hand in getting Van Horn traded. He turned on Wilkins, fought with LB, fought with teamates, turned his back on his teamates and walked off planes, fought with his father figure Zeke, fought with fans, fought with the media, forced interns into the truck.....

what exactly is Marbs place in NY?

Just like curry found out this is D'Antoni's team the fans found out that this is D'Antoni's team. They can shout for Stephon until they are blue in the face that doesn't mean they are gonna get Stephon.

D'Antoni sent the message to the fans STFU, because the fans have become losers like the team in the past 4-5 years. He knows a lot of the fans prefer controversy over wins which is just stupid.

I blame the media. Part of the problem is that with so much media coverage, there is a need to have "news" every day, multiple times per day. So whether the story is the fans cheering for Marbury, Marbury asking reporters to move, Crawford watching (or not watching) reporters move, D'antoni not happy with the fans trying to coach the game, D'antoni cursing at the calls in the game...whatever it is, it becomes more than what it ever was once the media gets a hold of it. AND, if the players or coaches don't want to talk about it, they get slammed.

The major papers need some fresh new thoughts on the team. I am tired of the bull$#1+ from Berman, Isola and the rest of the gang. I find myself looking at the blogs more often now because there, you have fans reporting on what they see (maybe with a pro-knick bias, but I have a pro-knick bias, so it works for me).

i have a feeling there were about 20 of Steph's cousins in the stands who were doing the chanting.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.
