OK, first off the team didn't want to cut Jerome James because of his contract so this will not happen.

Second, if this MCGee guy you speak of is so good then why would the Wizards trade him for Curry? Why would anyone give anything of value for Curry right now? Or ever, really?

seriously i don't see why WAS would make this deal... i'd be happy if we got Haywood's shorter term contract in exchange for Curry at this point... at least he can block some shots.

No way Wash. gives up that package for fat slob Eddy Curry. We're one of the worst teams in the league and Curry isn't even in our rotation. Forget rotation, he's not even playing for us period. Plus, Washington got burned big time by drafting another HS flop in Kwame Brown #1 in '01 and I doubt they'd want to take the chance on another similar underachieving big man. But say we included a David Lee or a Nate Robinson, now you might have a discussion. You pair Zach with this young fella McGee up front along with Chandler/Gallo at the 3. That'd be some frontcourt. Would save us the trouble of having to sign either Lee or Robinson longterm also. It'd be tough to find the right match though (not sure even Lee or Robinson are good fits, not with guys like Etan Thomas, Andre Blatche, Nick Green and Juan Dixon in the mix over there) but you'd definitely have to pony up more than just Curry to pry that kid McGee away from them, that's for sure...

I can't imagine them giving up McGee for Tubby. Really, if by some miracle that does happen, you are Santa.

How can that Happen Briggs? Is it a "Compete now and Curry being the center of attention thing" again?

Perhaps Haywood + Etan Thomas/Antonio Daniels for Curry + Mardy

Songalia and McGee have too much value to be included plus we cannot do trades with more players coming back then going out

I think Curry still has some value and his contract is reasonable- especially if you think he may opt out.

At best, I don't think we can hope for more than a simple non player and shorter contract.

Eddy gives them presence NOW.

McGee is the price they pay for NOW.

Problem is roster space with that trade, but I understand Briggys point.

This would be a good trade for WAS since their style of play needs a presence in the post. Looking at their roster and contracts, I think you will need a 3rd team to get this done.

Another team that can really use Curry is Miami. I would do a Curry for Blount and future 1st rounder.

etan for curry is possible. Etan has two years left, plays D and rebounds but has little offense. No way wiz give up MCGee or Blatche. AD is also their only pg. Not gonna happen. Wiz season ticket holder/knick fan

This is the same Eddy Curry who averaged 20-7 two years ago who was unstoppable at many times--who looked like a burgeoning star

This is the guy who put up 43-14 on Milwaukee on 17-20 shooting that year

This is not Dan Gadzuric Jake Voshkul or any other 7 footer stiff. This is a player capable of 30-10 games.

He was hurt with a knee this offseason and did not come back in good shape. He needs to concentrate on fitness. At 24-25 years old--if you work with a trainer--fitness and weight loss is pretty easy.

I see the same people who wanted to release Zach Randolph or trade him with our lottery pick for a cheeseburger just to get rid of him and he's fit in quite well here.

Someone said Etan Thomas--Etan plays hard but hes an 8=6 guy as are most 7 footers and Etan is 6-9. EC in the right situation with the right staff could be riught back to his 20-7 57% form. In the right system--lets say a Dallas or a Washington Eddy can be a force again especially on the offense. What EC the Knicks have to do is get him back in the shape that gives us the best value to swap him OR use him ----npth the Knicks and EC have failed at this but its easily rectifiable.

Now Im not trading EC for .25 on the buck. To many people dont understand you dont sell at a low--the kid is 25 and just off a 20-7 season barely a year ago. Bringing in Zach stunted his growthg as a player and he hasnt taken it well. He needs to go some place else but not for the stooges asking for nothing in return. We need something of very reasonable value.

I think MS put it best when he said that in the right system Lee Nailon could have put up 19 PPG too

Ok, when you put it like that ;)

True, Eddy was a burgeoning all star recently. As long as they can look past his defensive ineptitude there may be a chance. In all fairness, if we were not running now, I wouldn't mind seeing Eddy man the middle for one last shot (just not with Zach, it doesn't work). Maybe there is something to your idea...
