I'm surprised you forgot to mention they had Andrew Bynum as well.

Oh stop. They have a great team on paper. They'll dominate throughout the season. But last year in the playoffs they couldn't get a stop, they're a team full of pansies, no one--not even Kobe--could hit an important shot at the end of a close game... and that team had no chemistry. Everyone just deferred to Kobe. The offense was like "I don't want to get yelled at by Kobe, so I'm just going to throw him the ball and stand here." And no matter how good Kobe is, no team can win a championship with that offense. Not to mention the guy hasn't had a real offseason playing in the Finals and Olympics. So of course you had to include that *healthy* caveat.

They must have had a few stops--they did go to the championship game through the western conference Ariza is way better Farmar will be better their bench is awesome--no one in the league has a talent like Odom coming off the bench they are deep this year they will have Bynum and Mihm--they dont even need to play Kobe high minutes because they will have won many games in the first half.

This might be Jax best coaching job. Oh Dumb is no superstar and Pao is not either.

Only Phil can turn Reezy into a starter on a championship caliber team!

Pau is a very good player. Compare him to Will Perdue, Bill Wennington, and Luc Longley.

Phil Jackson is a very good coach, but his "genius" always seems to start with having the best player in the game and a top 10 player alongside him. In this case top 15-20.

I remember those guys as nothing more than respectable role players but maybe I'm forgetting how they were in their primes? Were they really as talented as Pau is now?

They just toyed with a very good Portland team last night. Tonight, they're destroying the Clippers in the 2nd game of a back to back no less. Up 32 with 8:42 to go in the 4th on the road. They're good. Very good...

I think with Ariza, I know it's early and we gotta see what goes on around the league, but I gotta believe he'll be considered for most improved player, possibly the 6th man of the year (hopefully Chandler gets some recognition for these awards also). Ariza's developed into a very nice two-way player for them and there aren't too many of those guys in this league...

The Bulls championship centers were nowhere near the Pau level of good, that is my point. Pau is a great wingman for Kobe, his equivalent of Scottie Pippen (Not as good, nor is Kobe as good as Jordan), and Bynum is better than Perdue etc. Add to that Odom who isn't great, but still pretty good.

My point to Nalod is that this team is loaded with talent. Absolutely loaded. Phil Jackson is not making silk purse from Sow's ear.

Jackson's best coaching job was the after year Jordan retired for the first time. by far.

"On the road"? Really?

Yeah, it was kinda like a Yankee/Met game wasn't it? HAHA! Still, a 38-point win in the 2nd game of a back to back in another team's gym for that team's home opener is damn impressive.

This team has a wicked bench. How many teams could afford to just put Walton out of the rotation? Farmar Ariza Vujacic and Odom and still have Walton and Mihm in case of injury and foul trouble. They can withstand injury to anyone except Kobe and they could still play on a high level without him. The main thing is their team's main players are likely to play less minutes this season--which prepares them better for the playoffs.

That is the only thing that kind of stinks for the NBA this year. IF Boston and LA stay healthy--it will be an absolute NO brainer for both of them to make the finals. If anything the east is weaker and many of the good western teams lack the depth of past teams.
