11 pts. 9 assists 3 steals in first NBA game... still early obviously but not a bad start to what could be a very good career for this kid.

Looks good. Greg Oden, on the other hand, injured again.

he looked good.....he coulda had more than 9 assists. one play in particular he had deng open on a break but he decided to go ahead and shoot it himself. deng had a dunk.

he just seems so much more athletic than everyone else. lets see if rose figures that out.

Oden looked horrible in the time he was in the game too... was 0 for 4 w/2 missed FT's... dude looked mad slow running up court to boot.

I agree about Oden. I have him on my fantasy team and was surprised at how stiff he ran. There is no fluidity when he strides. The player Rose reminds me the most of is Marbury.

Oden is damaged goods. I will continue to say the Blazers picked Bowie over Jordan. Durant will be an all-star.

nyk4ever, That's crazy talk. For one thing, he was touted as the top guy coming into last year. Second, I *definitely* was a supporter of Rose's all last season. Anyone who think of BRIGGS and I going back and forth over Rose will remember that. Oh, and I got him in the EnySpree Classic as my third guard. Money where the mouth is.

Oden looked absolutely lost on offense. The shots he put up were just awkward and ugly.

A shame, but yeah he did look slow. I think he only hurt his ankle last night so at least it wasn't the knee.

Portland didn't look too good in general but I tell ya, Rudy Fernandez looked real good. I like his game a lot. Great shooting stroke, good passer, good handle, high IQ (surprised at how vocal he was last night, directing traffic, telling guys where to be on defense, etc. - I mean this guy's a rookie and a Euro. rookie to boot), slashes to the basket very well, water at the FT line. The Blazers got a good one with this guy, you can tell already. I can see why McMillian's so high on him. Watching Rudy Fernandez play really gives a Knick fan hope about Gallinari.

Did you catch when the announcers were talking about Oden and they said one of the things he got a chuckle out of is when someone asked him what was WW II like. Man that is one old looking dude.

seconded

Portland's draft record over the last 3 yearsis proof every GM has warts.

KP traded out of the 3rd spot (Paul or Deron) for Webster and Fernandez

then they took Oden over Durant.

Could've had CP3 or Deron/Roy backcourt with an Aldridge/Durant frontcourt with a serviceable center in Pryz.

the stop underrating David Lee movement 1. FIRE MIKE 2. HIRE MULLIN 3. PAY AVERY 4. FREE NATE!!!

agree. rose didn't look too sharp running the break at times. his speed with the ball though is impressive

I agreed with Barkley when he said Oden is going to have to develop some offensive skills. Every attempt last night was a put back off of a rebound, or a shot within 2 feet of the rim. And with leg/foot problems this early, that is severely going to hinder him.

I expect that D'Antoni feels the exact same way as you do.
