It looks like Bird is going to put Artest on the blocks. He doesn't like his style of play and wants to move away from the Bad Boy stigma that the pacers were trying to get under I. Thomas. It looks like Bird and Carlisle are going to trade Artest. I would love to see him on the Knicks he does a lot of thing well scores, rebounds and gives out assists. He is talented and versatile. Should the knicks make a move for Ron Artest or is he to risky.

You know Vmart...you have some smart ideas and I know someone who will fit perfectly into the Indiana style of play that Bird is trying to create...Keith Van Horn. Ship his ass out to Indiana if they will take him and give us Artest and I will call Scott Layden a genious. Will never happen, but seeing Artest in an NY Uniform with a coach who can handle him (obviously not Don Chaney) and we have the makings of a good team. Layden would never take Artest though - same reason Bird wants him gone.

I think Van Gundy could have handled artest. Not Chaney. I think Artest is also a little out there... not a good trait to have as a baller

You know what thats first thing that I thought about Artest in Miami. He seems to be a Riley type player. It would be ironic if he ends up in Miami especially after their shoving match.

I can see Artest with JVG watch him end up with the heat or the rockets. He would be perfect out west to take on and shut down Kobe. pun intended.

Jeff couldn't handle Artest are you kidding. If spree cussed him out in front of his teammates, Artest might throw Jeff in a garbage can.

Where have u read that Bird is going to trade Artest or even that they are trying to get rid of the bad boy stigma...unless you read minds noone can asume that Artest is going anywhere. Indiana has to be smart and since when is trading the best defensive player, especailly to the Knicks, ever i mean ever going to happen.

It was mentioned on ESPN Insider by Chad Ford. Chad said Larry Bird wants to change the style of play. Therefore, that's why Al Harrington and Ron Artest might be on the trading block. It would be something for the Knicks who already missed out on Artest during draft night'99 to get him back via a trade. This Knicks mgmt from hell would not even consider Artest. If they felt that Sprewell was a distraction, imagine what they would think of Artest. I totally agree if the knicks can acquire either players then Mgmt would be making a right move.

It's going to be close to impossible to trade Artest and get equal value. He is a base year player. Al Harrington on the other hand is another case. If Bird is serious about moving him maybe we can swing a Ward for Harrington trade that will give them cap relief and/or a backup point guard.

Seeing this just makes me reflect....

If only Ed Tapscott used his damn brain and drafted Artest instead of Fred Weis(!!!)

Hey, IM just glad Gerald Wilkins is no longer still playing ball.

If only this, if only that........Get over it! Lots of teams screw up and the only thing that counts is what the Knicks management does from here going forward.

True indeed - it's the road ahead that counts. Spilled milk just gets old and nasty-smelling.

Playa,

man, you stole my posts, at least the last one you gave me credit, and now your buttering up my stuff. I appreciate the props, really, but you don't have to suck up so much.

I dig the tough crowd here, a little too emotional at times, but let me sink or swim on my own. You hang on my posts they gonna bash me in proxy to your aquaintance.

Its cool man, I do appreciate the props, and if you agree, thats good, if not, thats what we are here for too!

Don't worry about him, Nedyal1... Playa is just doing what he does best when he sucks people. Yeah he used your post on Necrom's site too, but he even co-opts snippets from the Post or wherever and posts them like he came up with it. You'll get used to it, though.

Donnie Walsh, whom I have a lot of respect for, may have made a boo boo somewhere not being able to keep Miller. I also think Bird was always coming back in the event he could not own a team.

While artest represnts what many fans like in being an anti authority figure, he is emotionally unrealiable and great teams cannot affort that.

Indiana has no tolerance for salary cap tax, and looks like it might be going thru a slight rebuild. Might be smart. Why not do it early if you think current group might not grow into a championship caliber team. I dig Bird for that if it is in fact true, do it right no matter how long it takes. Perhaps retaining Brad miller at those inflated prices was not in the cards for them.

I don't see how we can take artest unless we throw in an ending deal on a player they can use for a year only. I don't think Spoon, anderson or Eisley, fits that bill. Travis knight does, but he does not play, he sits.

Seems bird feels there is value in Croshire as a player, and hes untradable until he proves he can really play.

Bird is taking risks here, which should prove interesting.

For the last time, I could care less about promoting anyone or someone article in a sports debate! If I (AGREE) with a post , or a article I just post it. If you guys hold me hostage to give you the source for everything I post you will be waiting for a long time. Some times I do and sometimes I don't. Who makes the rules anyway. I stand alone!

EVERY MAN WHO STANDS ALONE IS NOT ALWAYS ALONE IN HIS STANCE
What does DICK CHANEY & DON CHANEY have in common ?? They both accidentally fell into a job they don't deserve & really suck at doing it !!!! Both need to be fired !!!
