If we don't get Lebron, what's the 2nd best option?
Sign Dwyane Wade
Sign Chris Bosh
Sign Dirk Nowitzki
Sign Yao Ming
Sign Carmelo Anthony
Wait for 2011

Bosh or Wade

however I'd stay from injury riddled Ming

oh and Carmelo isn't a FA in 2010 but has an option in 2011

Wade's a bit injury prone too. Yao previously wasn't injury prone but he's had a few freak injuries. We'll have to see how he holds up over the next two years.
Sorry I must have messed up with Carmelo.

Wade is threatening to turn into a one hit wonder - & injury prone.

Yao Ming should be called Yao Ding.

When you are that tall, you are going to experience freak injuries- its just the nature of the organism.

Bosh might not be a bad option, especially if we can add a superstar type talent to the back court.

But, my vote is wait for 2011.

Draft Thabeet, sign Bosh if you can, and continue to develop Chandler. That would be a very good front court with defensive minded players right there.

isn't Joe Johnson part of this crop ?

If so I would go after him, he played with Suns as is probably the only reason the Hawks were good. or at least the sole reason the hawks pushed the celts to the limit.

The guys performs and has the numbers to back it, for some reason he just always flies below the radar. Maybe he might be cheaper than the blockbuster guys.

I don't see a reason why most of these guys wouldn't re-up with their team.

to chose from the selection above, i would choose bosh. If were are building the suns part 2, then he would fill amare's role quite nicely

I want to know what is plan B. One free agent has taken his team to the promise land that was Shaq. I am sure Bosh is going to want to come to NY and play with Gallinari and a bunch of misfits because they have to get under the cap.

These guys above are plan B. You're really asking what plan C is. You could make much more money in NYC than anywhere else. I have trouble imagining that everyone of them would turn down Knick offers. That said, you can use your sweet trade advantages of being under the cap to improve the team and make the team more appealing to the 2011 FA class. Maybe that's part of the plan C that you're looking for.

I'd go Bosh. He's the best 2 way player you listed (including LeBron)

I would have agreed to Wade being the next Penny Hardaway last offseason, but he was a stud in the Olympics. Second option is Bosh, third Nowitzki (age). And the 78th option is Ming (is he ever healthy? And is just me or do the Rockets play just as good, if not better, with him out?).

Bosh.

(assuming we can somehow get a blue chip guard in the draft next year... we're gonna be real thin at the guard spot without Marbury and if Jamal opts out... looking at that I really wish we'd taken Bayless... sigh...)

Why does everyone keep saying that you can make more in NY than anywhere else. MJ did quite fine for himself. Barkley did great fro himself in Philly and Arizona. Shaq ain't starving. I see KG, Lebron, Kobe and Wade enough times on TV to know they don't need to be in NY to make good money. This isn't MLB, these guys are locked into a salary structure system.

Bigger fan base. The salary structure is irrelevant; it's the endoresements. Nike will pay you twice as much (or at least a lot more) they know the fan base of sneaker buyers is twice as big. It might even be a more extreme difference than that because the NY fan base is so hungry. Now that didn't mean anything when we could only offer the $30 mil MLE but a max contract is entirely different.
They don't need to be in NY to make good money? Dude, they don't need to ever step on a basketball court again to have good money. That's not their goal.

I know that if I were Bosh and my goal were to win a championship, I'd look to team up with Lebron or Chris Paul. If my goal were to make the most money and join a system with a good GM, I'd have to give a lot of consideration to NY.
